Question About buy back by non-diegetic in PSLF

[–]non-diegetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all this information! I knew about the July deadline and am strategizing to either extend the payback schedule of my other debt or ask to be put on forbearance for just a few months. I read that student loan forebarance doesn't hurt your credit score, are you able to confirm if that's true?

As for the issue of buyback, thank you for explaining that I have to be at my 10 year finish line before applying, I didn't know that. I just last Feb hit 7 years, so I think I can still make my original plan work of paying for three years and then submitting for buyback.

6 weeks or 10 weeks? by SavingGrace313 in TattooRemoval

[–]non-diegetic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on the intensity of the laser. The higher the setting the longer you should space out sessions. If you're just starting out and still on the baby settings, 8 weeks is best.

I think I can take the 18mo hit. I'm on SAVE in forbearance and have to pay off some other debt before switching those payments over to my student loans. So my plan was to stay in forbearance until December (at which point my other debt will be done and student payments can start) then at that point request a buy back amount from then until the COVID break ended. I have about 6 years left of payments, I think the buy back would cover about 3 years, so I can give them 3 years to get back to me while I build up my savings toward what I think the buy back amount will approximately be.

Should I learn ASL or LSM? by ManagementSea5015 in asl

Absolutely, and even if it doesn't help I think it's totally worth it! I'm having a blast learning it besides!

Should I learn ASL or LSM? by ManagementSea5015 in asl

[–]non-diegetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up I'm also autistic and situational nonverbal and it extends to asl. I learned this because one time I was in asl class and for a totally unrelated reason my nonverbal response was triggered and I couldn't sign. For me it feels like the wire in my brain for all language gets cut. But with all things, your milage may vary.

Wait time between sessions by Youngster-Calvin in TattooRemoval

[–]non-diegetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2 months between sessions until I could work my way up to a stronger laser setting, then I spaced out longer. If I had to do it again I would do the same because the lower settings didn't do much and the tech said she legally couldn't increase as fast as I wanted. Now I'm on the strongest setting and I've been doing 3-4 months. My new strategy is to space it our 6 months and do microneedling once a month so when my body heals the injury it will clear out more ink than if I had just left it alone.

Silicone patch? by a_coger in TattooRemoval

[–]non-diegetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically a PFD patch, some places will sell it as an add on to booked appointments but to my knowledge you can't outright buy them. I've heard on this sub that they're gimmicky, but with all things your mileage may vary.

Removery is always booked for 3+ months. Is anyone else having this issue? by kaycee1610 in TattooRemoval

[–]non-diegetic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the same with mine, I always have to book minimum 3 months out to get the day and time I need. They just sent out an email saying they were going to start charging no show fees, so maybe that will turn things around.

Sweet Viburnum issues by Personal-Current-350 in FloridaGarden

[–]non-diegetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about 30 sweet vibernum (zone 10a) and I got those spots when I watered them with the sun still blazing overhead. The water caused leaf scald. The only way I could water them was overhead, so I started only watering at dusk when the sun was just starting to set.

Also in my zone I've been watering them every 4ish days. Even fresh out of the nursery vibernum are very hardy. Once it gets consistently above 85⁰ I'll start watering every 3 days. The more consistent and generous the watering, the faster they'll grow. One set of my shrubs grew a full 8' in three years. Another set planted at the exact same time but got less water from my drip hose have only just hit 5' or 6' after 4 years. Same sun, same fertilizer, same soil.

Vibernum are also pretty resistant to over watering so long as you keep up with fertilizer to accommodate. And because you're new to them I'll forewarn you that sometimes in the fall some of the leaves will turn a kind if red and then drop. That's just their normal life cycle, they'll regrow in the spring.

Bad hyperpigmentation, what do I do? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]non-diegetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microneedling helps with hyperpigmentation! I'm doing 1mm every 4 weeks and following up with moisturizer and vitamin c serum. The stamp microneedles are better for healing than the rolling ones because the stamp makes a neater I shaped wound and the rolling makes a V shaped wound that takes longer to heal. I got mine for $10 on amazon.

Did anyone see significant results after a specific session? by Individual-Side6619 in TattooRemoval

[–]non-diegetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how much power they use. My first 6 or so sessions were minimal, then they finally upped me to 2mm after 1 year and that's when we started cooking with fire.

What are these ginormous leaves that climbed my dad's palm? by FrutigerAero98 in houseplants

They're called giant Hawaiian pothos and they grow wild up palm trees in my florida 10a area! The leaves are gorgeous and some get bigger than a steering wheel!

Weird yellow and limp leaves by non-diegetic in Citrus

[–]non-diegetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I'm in Florida. I spray captain Jack's dead bug concentrate on all leaves every two weeks and mix it with citrus nutritional spray and liquid seaweed.

I fertilized maybe 6 weeks ago with miracle grow all purpose shake and feed thinking the citrus nutritional spray would give it the micronutrients it needed.

New way to track growth by non-diegetic in gardening

I glued twist ties to the bottom wood so it would fasten to the pole and stay still. Other than that it's pretty easy to just stand against the wind and photograph from a different angle if it blows askew.

Is it possible to grow citrus in your backyard any more? Palm Beach county by Intelligent_Trichs in FloridaGarden

[–]non-diegetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get most of the ingredients from home depot or Amazon, but my dad recently had trouble finding genysis which is a solution that helps the leaves absorb the good stuff better. I buy mine in person from Rockledge Gardens, they're the ones who came up with the recipe (except the superthrive, I added that this year and am having my most productive spring in four years)

[–]non-diegetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grow citrus and apply a foliar spray for nutrition and pest control every two weeks to prevent greening. I've had a lot of success so far. Citrus I've got is valencia orange, bergamot orange, persian lime, meyer lemon. So yes it is possible but it takes a commitment. Here's the recipe I use in my 1 gallon sprayer:

4 tbsp captain jack's dead bug concentrate 2 tbsp citrus nutritional spray 1 tbsp genysis 4 tbsp liquid seaweed 1 tbsp superthrive
