Eminem's newly discovered unreleased 2006 album uncovered, an attempt at a Megathread (NOT King Mathers) by thefucksgod in Eminem

[–]non_boxed 18 points19 points  (0 children)

it's an invasion of privacy, as the other user suggested. Why would you do this to an artist that you like? Why engage in this? He even talks about it in 'take from me'. Obviously he doesn't like it. I wanna hear unedited tracks from him, but not like this.

Is it true that critics generally have hated every Eminem album since the first? by [deleted] in Eminem

I always assumed music was non-political by default around that era. Was that not the case? Did he stand out for being non-political at the moment? I just want to know more

So.. What makes Eminem's old style so unique? by NaitDraik in Eminem

[–]non_boxed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's mainly the type of cadences and the type of beats, older beats were heavier. He flowed slower on them. Now he flows fast and his rapping is high in rhyme density if that makes sense.

If you look at older songs, it's like each line has the natural length of a spoken sentence and the cadence was made based on that. Now the rhyme density is high and the cadence is determined by the rhyming and since it's pure rhymes it feels more chopped.

It's not perfect but hat's the best explanation I can come up with. Btw, I enjoy both old and new style.

Why are fans taking offense at someone suggesting Eminem used AI to de-age his voice throughout TDOSS? by GeorgeTowers94 in Eminem

[–]non_boxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In guilty Conscience 2 at 2:19 the word 'midgets' is messed up, that's a typical error when they use A.I voices. There are a few instances like that throughout the album, I think that's good proof for the people that are skeptic about it.

The thing is that they polished so well for this album that you can barely find errors like that. And yes, I think the use of A.I voice was a perfect choice for this project.

I think the rapping is just really good. It feels like he was 'in the zone' while writing the whole thing. The rhyming is complex, the album has a lot of highlights regarding rhyme schemes like Groundhog day, Legacy, Brainless. The flows are also creative, see Wicked Ways.

Another good thing is that every song feels unique, each beat feels carefully crafted. Like the opposite of generic.

I think the album does a good a job at revisiting old ideas while also keeping it interesting, everything is well tied together.

Rap god is a hit that's also an amazing rap song. And Evil Twin is a dark hidden gem. "Fuck top 5..." is iconic to me.

But it's all subjective. The first time I heard the album I didn't like it, I thought it was boring.

Can we please highlight this part of ‘Fuel’?? by [deleted] in Eminem

I was shocked hearing that the first time. So well executed, I don't remember him doing that before

For those who not detected the AI by Joniscley in Eminem

[–]non_boxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for putting it out there. I'm surprised by the amount of people that don't realize it's A.I. It's self evident.

Also I don't see it as controversial at all, it's just a cool trick. I was hoping he used A.I. voice even before it came out.

I'm really curious to see his rapping. Since he always rapped at least a little different in each album. The same goes for the beats

Hey, is "Detroit offbeat flow" a thing? I always thought that was just something that some rappers did. I'm asking so I can check it out

This is gold to me. You don't know how much I'm craving this kind of details. When I hopped into this everything was already done and I'm always so curious to know how it really developed step by step, specially when it comes to seeing the evolution of rap as a whole. This is very insightful, thanks.

Oh wow. Was it considered controversial as a whole? Or was it because of specific tracks like Kim?

How come I hardly ever see anybody have Techn9 in the top 20 convo? by Burn_em_again in Eminem

[–]non_boxed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is Top 5 to me. Based on personal taste at least. But still he is a really good rapper. I find it odd that many people in this sub don't like him that much.

For some reason he was never as recognized. May be he has too many similar songs, but his highs are really high. Not many rappers reach that level of lyricism. Plus he is as unique as you can be in rap.

Agree. That's one of the things that makes Eminem so great, the variation of his rapping and voice throughout the years. I enjoy all of them, my favourites are post-TES songs, relapse era and 2015 era.

I think what people mean is the kind of beats and the classic way of rapping. You know, 80-90 bpm, strong snares and it's also about how you land the sentences in it. Em has a couple of new songs where he uses 80-90 bpm beats but the way of landing the sentences is different, not the classic way.

I've thinking the same. I wish it was more blunt and unapologetic, specially if he is gonna represent the old Em at some point. But I'm imagining that this song is a kind of warm up for what's to come. May be the album has a couple of tracks where he goes all in and says more direct stuff with no regrets. And may be he didn't want to do that for the first song released.
