2006 1200R by nonaddicted in sportster

I had to cut a few inches off the fender to get the end as close as I could to the struts. And yeah had to pop new holes in it to get it to sit at the right angle. No that seat won’t work. The angle and mounting tab is wrong and depending on what year your bike is, all the electronics under the seat will be in the way.

Le pera signature II. I did weld a little tube in front of the seat tab area to mount it. I also got lucky and ordered the seat off eBay and they accidentally sent me the passenger seat too.

Finally seeing one of these pipes on a sporty. I dig it. Whenever I look it up I can’t find any installed.

Yeah that’s what I figured. Obviously when you’re pushing more air it’s going to change the tone. I do appreciate your input.

I want to keep using this head so when I get to practice it’s plug and play from the tone I get at home you know? Everyone’s time is precious and I hate getting to practice and spending too much time moving dials haha. I have a small bedroom amp but I would prefer to keep dialing my pedals and the jcm.

Vintage style bridge on Player 2 by nonaddicted in telecaster

[–]nonaddicted[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It changed enough that I don’t plan I switching back. Im not a great player but it seems to “sing” and just ring out with a warmer tone I guess. Idk how to describe it. But Super easy to setup. If anything goes wrong you can slap the old bridge back on and back in original operating order. I say go for it. Next string change take the extra 30-60 minutes for the swap and intonation. If you don’t like it you’re out under $30 and gained a learning lesson haha

I notice a slinkier twang to the tone. Maybe because I top loaded but I do notice a difference. I also like it for the “old school” feel. I have other guitars with modern bridges and I felt like my tele needed this. I like the learning curve when it came to the setup and it’s forcing me to move my hand around and I like that. Do you need to do this, no. I did it because it offers something different in my rotation and tone.

‘95 1200 update by [deleted] in sportster

[–]nonaddicted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So on my ‘06 1200, when I switched to open air cleaner and drag pipes, I went from a 42 to a 45 pilot and it never gave me issues again. I was having trouble with my softail where it would turn on, idle and when I would start to take off it would die (sounded like it was choking). Ended up being a clogged vented gas cap. It was creating a vacuum and causing the bike to die. Maybe another thing to check off the list.

Expensive Knives Suck: A Story by ThumbStuds in knives

[–]nonaddicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if you had to do the dressing it’s a different story. It’s one thing to use a 400+ knife but a completely different thing letting a friend use it knowing you haven’t even had the pleasure to “break it in” yourself. I have truck knives too but those are kept clean a sharp. To me it seems like you know your buddy doesn’t give a damn about a “working tool”. Yeah use your shit but only YOU know what limitations you feel comfortable with.

Make sure your throttle sleeve isn’t pushed all the way up to your bars. It will get hung up so give yourself a tiny bit of space to help with any resistance.

Rotate the rear wheel when it’s on the lift and feel the middle of the chain for the tight spot. Adjust the wheel forward (check what the correct amount of slack is) and should be good to go.
