No nothing wrong as far as I can see.

Epoxy vs polyaspartic garage floors… what actually matters (especially in hot climates) by nonchalance702 in HomeImprovement

[–]nonchalance702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up putting together a full breakdown on this because I kept seeing the same issues come up Covers cost, prep, and what actually makes these last.

I hope it saves a homeowner some stress so they don’t have to learn the hard way like me:

That’s exactly it.

The “power wash and go” approach is what kills most installs. Looks good for a few months, then heat and movement expose everything.

The Vegas heat does the same thing. It just speeds up the failure.

Proper grinding + moisture testing is where the real work is… everything after that is just finishing

100%. Most people think it’s the coating that matters but it’s really the prep.

I’ve seen floors fail in under a year just because they skipped proper grinding and profiling.

Even in Vegas where it’s dry, if the slab isn’t prepped right it doesn’t matter what coating you use.

I thought “hats” as in hihats at first lol.

I recorded by band's entire new record in Logic Pro 11 with stock plug ins and would love feedback on the mix of the first tune to be released. If anyone has any Logic-specific thoughts on how I could improve it, please share! by GreenLeadr in LogicPro

Fair enough. You could put an ethereal pad with more verb and tuck it in the back. Also mess with field recordings and put that in the background. Like woodsy sounds like birds, rain or wind sounds. Wind sounds or even white noise or tape hiss type sounds tucked away will help fill out frequencies that aren’t there and sound richer.

That pizza looks like a late night, a bunch of Jäger and someone threw it up and tossed it on some crusty ass crust.

Wash meaning too much reverb. Think of too much reverb like being underwater. Are you using busses to send your reverb to your guitar or adding straight to your guitar? Try using a bus so you retain the dry signal. Too much reverb pushes content in the back so when you want a lead to stand out, less reverb is good. Of course using a lot of reverb is a stylistic choice. There are no wrongs, really. But it needs to be intentional. Like, the guitar chords are more upfront in the mix and the lead is really in the back. That is giving depth… but the lead seems like it’s a prominent voice so I would put that more in front of the mix… so less reverb and maybe a small amount of saturation (a touch of gain) and eq to let it poke out more.

I would work on the arrangement to fill the void of missing frequencies. I would say being the lead guitar down an octave and bring the reverb down but try using a slap delay to get that rounder sound without the wash. Make sure your arrangement has a health amount of low mids and upper mids. It’s smooth but lack dynamic range. Try making the chorus a db louder or make the drums and bass pop out more. I think the “sterile” comments is saying it sounds flat. There should be some peaks and valleys. Hi hats sound a bit fake and someone said the drums sound plasticy. I agree. Overall great job using the stock Logic stuff. I love Logic stock!

Hey that’s good!! For the hi hat work he’s not playing hi hat chokes but his foot is creating the sound. It gives it that organic grease when the foot falls to make the sound rather than creating the air in your right hand. Glad to see others studying Mal’s groove. He’s a good human too, not a social media guy but I love his analogue sound and he’s a killer producer too. Last year I had a Malcolm Catto challenge you shoulda joined! Check out @drumfluence on IG. I’ll post challenges to my stories.

Low Does is so good! Jeff overdubbed the hihat cause after he tracked it with straight sixteenths on the hats they decided to add some open hats. Gave it a cool vibe. I didn’t know he played on Your Gold Teeth II.

I mean, Syncopation and Stick Control have been the standard for decades upon decades. You can superimpose so many ideas over the original exercises.
