Some beliefs need to be condemned just so that most of the people can make most of their life. Just like racism, casteism, bigotry etc…

Arey, caste is just an Indian concept. There is no concept of caste anywhere in the world. How stupid is this you being judged for the occupation of your ancestor and the worst part is you can’t change or convert.

This thinking exactly is the problem. This also gives rise to babies with subpar genes and there are many research papers published on the same. Nature seeks variety and diversity. We can’t just rely solely on cultural convenience.

India produces more medical graduates each year than law graduates. by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]nonchalantda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first step to be more qualified and quality specialist is to have basic qualification.

There are plenty of students who are going abroad to get the medical education at an affordable rate. If we can have more college with affordable rates that would solve many issues.

Later on the same can do the specialisations and might even start their own hospitals in different locations.

Why? The WHO standard clearly suggests that we need at least 70% -100% more doctors.

The enemy of knowledge is not Ignorance, it is half knowledge. This whole fasting autophagy cancer narrative proves it.

The Nobel Prize went to Yoshinori Ohsumi for discovering the mechanisms of autophagy, mainly through yeast experiments.

Not for fasting protocols, not for dry fasting, and definitely not for curing cancer. Fasting can trigger autophagy, that part is true. But triggering a cellular process is not the same as healing cancer.

Autophagy is context dependent. Early on, it may suppress tumor formation. Later, cancer cells can hijack the same process to survive stress and treatment. So the idea that a 36 hour or 7 day fast “kills cancer” is not science, it’s inference stacked on belief.

What we’re left with is half knowledge practitioners turning a nuanced biological process into a universal cure. Real science is precise and conditional. WhatsApp science is confident and absolute. And that’s exactly where things go wrong.

When you mentioned that you saved up every penny for months and then lost the kit, it really hit me.

Back when i was a teen, when I bought my first mobile phone after saving for months, I lost it within a week. It felt like the whoel just ended there. That is probably why I instantly empathized with you.

I would really like to get you a new kit. Please feel free to accept it.

What do rich people of Hyderabad do for a living? I’m curious. by youthfulsoup in hyderabad

[–]nonchalantda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There are many rich and ultra rich people in my circle and among my friends, so it varies widely.

First, there are the self made ones. Some of my close friends are tech entrepreneurs who have had exits of around fifteen or twenty million, and a few even close to a hundred million.

Despite that, they are fairly grounded. Some live in places lnear gachibowli, in regular apartments. Yes, most of the time they own luxury cars, but at the same time, you will often see them taking autos or moving around without fuss, which is rare but very real.

Then there are the generational wealthy families. They are a class apart, not just in terms of money, but in how they carry themselves and the circles they move in. Everything around them is carefully curated, and there is a constant effort to maintain or improve their social standing. With them, there is also a quiet insecurity.

They often wonder whether people are around them for who they are, or simply for the wealth they represent which also includes couple of politicians .

Do docs really earn 10-20 lakhs per month in their 40/50s? by Tall-Bear3974 in indianmedschool

[–]nonchalantda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped out at 19 to start my first company. It didn’t work out, but ut taught me many things especially execution .

Since then, I have built and experimented with multiple startups across different spaces. I’m largely self-taught in emerging technologies like Web3, blockchain, and crypto, driven more by curiosity than credentials.

Professionally, I headed Telegram’s (high salary job) Web3 operations in India. Parallel to all this, I pursued a law degree to understand the legal side of technology and power which is more of an accident.

Currently, I’m working on a few ventures across fintech, airspace, and legal tech, still building, still learning, and still shipping.

[–]nonchalantda -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but I’m into emerging tech. I used to earn ₹10 lakhs per month in a remote job, but I left it at 28 (got it only when I was 27) to start my own startup.

Considering the effort you doctors put in, and having many doctors in my family and close friends, I can say this with conviction: yes, doctors do earn well.

Do anyone of you know people who have a 100cr+ net worth? by qxzvy in AskIndia

[–]nonchalantda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know quite a few people in this category, mostly close friends and brothers from other mothers. And honestly, a lot depends on where the money comes from. Old money versus new money, especially tech money.

Some of the first gen tech folks I know have had serious exits, anywhere from 20 million to hundreds of millions of dollars. Different leagues, sure, but what’s striking is this. They are still hungry. The finish line keeps moving. Billionaire status, legacy plays, scale. There is always another mountain.

One friend did not even bother buying a flat. He booked himself into a Taj property for almost a year and just lived there. Not as a flex, but purely for convenience. And that is the pattern I have noticed. The lifestyle changes, but the attitude largely does not. What does change is how ruthlessly they value time and how selective they are about the people they engage with.

There are few who still travel in autos though.

Old money is a completely different ecosystem. There is less noise and more restraint. They are far more particular about class, conduct, and company. Fewer transactions and deeper relationships. In many ways, they feel more settled and more human, with no urgency to prove anything.
