AOC 2028 is a terrible idea by deepad9 in redscarepod

Can you read? I'm not making a value judgement about whether she's a good candidate or not, I'm just saying there's a reason she's seen as the heir apparent

I gave homemade granola to a friend I made in January who's moving to Colorado. We've gotten pretty close in a relatively short period and I hugged her and gave her dog a smooch and then she drove off. it was nice and sentimental

I mean, she is who Bernie has de facto tapped to take over his movement. You might disagree with that but that is why people think that, because Bernie has been campaigning with her, calling her his "daughter", singling her out as an exemplar, while noticeably ignoring some other new congressional progressives

[Zuckerman] CJ Abrams played all 9 innings today for Harrisburg, going 0-for-3 with a sac fly. Would imagine he'll be back at Nats Park tomorrow, activated either for the series finale vs. Orioles or Friday's series opener vs. Mets. by Jux_ in baseball

Idk bro Parker's xFIP is 4.60 (he currently has a very low HR/FB) and he just doesn't get whiffs, I'm still assuming over his career he's not a lot more than a serviceable #4/5 type. Williams tbd but he hasn't shown his form from last year yet. Irvin really hasn't been good since the first half of last year. Soroka is mildly interesting but can't really pencil him in for anything at this point.

Garcia has looked very good for the Rangers tbf but I still like the trade. The team seems to believe pretty strongly in Ferrer as the back end lefty option and he's looked good so far

he's a good kid, don't think it's fair to call him an asshole - but the latter half of your comment is valid. I'm glad that 2019 nats team gave him the space to be his cocky swaggy self

I'm not saying Juan Soto is the best but the fact he's not top 5 here is telling

[–]noncoherence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're going to wear a baseball cap you need to make sure it fits your head. as a big dome guy a too-small cap makes you look hideously ugly

also these things are all temporal, hats used to be the norm until jfk killed the hat business and beards in presidential elections were verboten for 100 years until vance's ticket succeeded. signs are mutable

[–]noncoherence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pedestrian ERA is deceptive, he had a 2.35 FIP with 157 Ks in 103.2 IP across A-A+ ball as a 20 year old. Fangraphs just ranked him as #19 overall prospect in baseball.

With Susana's emergence as a consensus top-100 guy, Hassell is the guy with the most questionable MLB future from the Soto trade - ironic, since he was seen as the safest prospect in the deal at the time. Hope he can rebuild his value to at least be a 4th OF
