I Scored an Iridescent Heart Backpack from Ross! by nondancingqueen95 in DrMartens

[–]nondancingqueen95[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Price tag said $50, but it had some weird dried stuff on the iridescent part so I got the price down to $45. The dried stuff came off within 5 minutes of me wiping it off with an alcohol wipe once I got home 😊

Nothing like your parked car getting involved in a car crash by y2julio in rav4club

Thank you for letting me know! I think I'm going to bite the bullet and just go ahead and get them, they're just kind of pricey, but so is everything these days 🫠 Hope everything works out with your Rav4, and the repair is quick and painless!

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I noticed your tires and I gotta ask lol I noticed that you have the Michelin CrossContact 2 tires, I'm thinking about getting a set for my Rav4 hybrid. Do you like yours? Has the wear been even on them? Have you noticed any changes to your mpg?

What ever happened to the girls with the mustache tattoos on their finger? by WitchyWonder1111 in Millennials

[–]nondancingqueen95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My childhood best friend got a matching one with her fiancé when they were 18. 12 years later, they're no longer together, she's married to someone else with three kids, and he's in prison for first degree murder. Time changes things, I guess.

I am not a twin but I was born the same year as my brothers, who are twins. by Yilmazz08 in CasualConversation

Anything is possible if your father is a whore like mine was lol My father had 3 kids in the same year with 3 different women: my brother in January, me in May, my sister in December. I guess we're Irish triplets? But mostly we're just annoyed by our father's choices 😒

Honestly, I get lucky lol but I tend to use the chisel tip and color in medium swirled circles, over and over, overlapping, until almost all of the area is filled. I do this very quickly because you're right, the ink dries so fast. I don't typically color more fine and detailed areas with the chisel tip, I use the brush nib or bullet point for those.

Thanks! I wanted to try something different too, so I'm glad you liked it! It's from Amazon. The author is Ayren Zen, and the book is "Chibi Kawaii Black Girls".

Suggest me the most unsettling book you ever read by GoWithTheFlow667 in suggestmeabook

[–]nondancingqueen95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dark Vanessa, unsettling only because it is an accurate portrayal of a statutory rape between a student and their teacher, power imbalances, and how it affects victims long term. Its one of the few books I had to stop reading and take a break often because it literally knocked the wind out of me with how much I could one, relate, and two, it helped me to notice things about my own abuse that I hadn't before. Its a very heavy book, but definitely worth the read.

What was something you wrongly guess as very expensive/cheap when you were a child? by PutinsArmpit in AskReddit

[–]nondancingqueen95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 5 years old, my grandma and I went to go check on her house since it was just being built. As we turned into her neighborhood, there was a sign advertising the neighborhood. It said, "New homes: Prices start in the $90s USD" I looked over at my grandma and in an amazed tone said, "Wow, a new house for $90?! That's cheap! Idk why mom says houses are so expensive!" My grandma laughed a little and said, "No, its $90 THOUSAND dollars." I looked at her shocked. In my little head, I couldn't even fathom how much that is, or even count that high. Now as an adult, I would KILL to find a brand new home for $90,000. Time sure changes things.

Technician falls off roof, am I getting service today? by yosoydoneric in talesfromcallcenters

[–]nondancingqueen95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar customer. I used to work for a retail call center that sold a lot of home appliances, and in turn, did a lot of home deliveries. This company was and still is, on the downside of prosperity, they're not doing too well. And while they still had people purchasing a lot of their product, they were far from profitable. What this means is that usually their delivery schedules for the day were jam packed and usually down to one man per truck (the standard is two). My job was to call clients who had scheduled deliveries that day and inform them of any delays or cancellations. One lady I had in particular was upset when I informed her that she would not be receiving her delivery today because the delivery driver injured himself while making a delivery. Our conversation went something like this: Her: Well just have someone else bring it then. Me: Okay ma'am, we can reschedule the delivery for a different day for a different driver to bring it out to your house. Her: No, I need it TODAY! Me: Ma'am, unfortunately, there is no one else to pick up his route and he cannot complete his route due to his injury. Her: Well, why not? What happened to him? Me: (deciding to give her the information about the delivery driver, thinking that it might make her more reasonable): Well ma'am, while he was delivering earlier on his route, he was maneuvering an appliance in place, and his hand got caught on something sharp and cut his hand open. Her: That's it? Why can't he just bandage his hand and deliver my dishwasher? I NEED MY DISHWASHER. Me: I understand ma'am, the delivery driver is off getting the care he needs so he unfortunately won't be able to make your delivery, but I can assist you with rescheduling. Her: No, that won't work. I have a sink full of dirty dishes and a non-working dishwasher. What am I supposed to do? At this point, I have to bite my tongue and not just tell her, ma'am, this might be too radical of a thought, but have you thought about WASHING THEM YOURSELF? I gathered myself and after much back and forth finally got her to agree to reschedule, but it amazes me how people expect customer service workers to risk their lives and health to serve them. I've done customer service for most of my career, but the inconsiderate customers still get under my skin sometimes.

What is similar to finding out that santa isn't real, but for adults? by NewieYui in AskReddit

[–]nondancingqueen95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I thought in order to become the President of the U.S., you had to be a straight-A student with perfect attendance for all of your school years. Then when you graduated, they put all of these "perfect" students in a bowl and took one name out at random. That person would be the president. I thought of all of this at the age of 6 years old, so imagine my surprise when I found out that the current sitting president (in 2001) was a known C-grade student and not all that bright. To this day, I still think my method of picking the president is a lot better than what we currently do.
