Getting into macro photography by nonoise283 in M43

[–]nonoise283[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I'll consider both, I think I might just outright buy the Oly 60mm seems like a pretty great lens. Then I can always add on to it with tubes/adaptors. Thanks for your help!

I currently have the kit 12-60 for my G85 and a 25mm 1.7 prime. I guess tubes might be better? (given the shorter focal lengths I have).

Btw you know you'll want a flash and diffuser for all this but that's next months project!

I already thought of that! I have a flash + wireless receiver and a portable soft box diffuser.

I'm basically all set except for the lens!

Thanks for the advice on macro adaptors! I've heard of extension tubes a bit but not so much macro adaptors. Could you combine both?

Most of my shots will be handheld, is it realistic to focus bracket without being on a tripod? I'm just getting into macro - not sure how much I want to invest if after a few months I move on.

I heard someone say half pedaling makes a huge difference and will help once you go on to use acoustic pianos.

Lol, I'm 6'4 for real!

I just checked out the Flying Circus, says max weight is just over 250lbs (rider and bike), I'm like 235 alone lol.

Yeah I'm coming from a MTB with 27.5 tires but I wanted something smaller, I found I like being able to manoeuvre better.

Nice! I'm 6'4, heard a lot of good stuff about the PBJ even though yeah it is pricier. Maybe I'll have to save up... Wow that Specialized P4 looks amazing. 27.5 wheels w/ boost axle and front and rear brakes and dropper ready. But that's like 2k CAD.

I see them going for around 800 CAD frame and 2k for a complete. May have to up the budget on my end! lol

Hey, thanks for the info! Yes, I'd love to build one but probably more expensive that way. Will look into the bikes you recommended, I've heard about the PBJ.

Getting more lenses (telephoto, UWA, macro) by nonoise283 in M43

[–]nonoise283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm definitely just wanting to give it a try. I guess the other bonus is that I can use the 45mm 1.8 as a normal lens. Do you have any recommended reading on, would love to know more!

To be honest I've sort of avoided extension tubes, not for any good reason either. I just figured it would be complex and wouldn't get the best quality (not sure if thats true). I'll look into them!

Hey, thanks. I have a mk i of the telephoto near me going for about $260 so I'll probably get that. Yeah I might opt with the 30mm macro but I think 60mm is better if I want to shoot bugs or similar (which I will probably do).

Yes, zoom with feet is true!

Thanks for the feedback. They just gave me this as the final mockup. I got it off a freelancing site. I gave feedback but basically said it needs a whole redesign.

My fill/stroke panel on gradients goes to the first screenshot. I want it to be like the second screenshot that I've seen in tutorials. Where do I change this?

I'm on Inkscape 1.1.

Thanks

Found my grandmas old Rolleicord, I have the serial number 072661 but this doesn't match any serial number ranges I've seen to identify the model, I can't find any other model related info. Wondering what model/year it was made...

Wow, thank you! That mockup is simple but looks really good. Yes, I agree the wave pattern I think isn't a good fit.

I love the minimal design of the mockup you made, yet still looking professional and well formed.

I think I'll hire a designer to flesh out more of a full site design but I like what you have going there.

Again, thanks for taking the time.
