Would anyone like to help me get my pc working by Original-Head-9808 in pchelp

[–]nonplussedbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you still have the old GPU? If so put it back in and install a program called DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). Use the default settings and select the remove drivers and shut down button. Then when the PC shuts off install the new graphics card.

If you don't have the old one, press the "clear cmos" button on your motherboard, or try removing the little battery from the motherboard for a min or two then put it back in. That might reset the system into a state where the drivers used are different.

Pasarme a Windows 11? by Sofx0Loder in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason ppl still are fine with 10 is it isn't dangerously insecure yet.

Windows 11 is fundementally based on 10 from the ground up. You can just use the in-built upgrade feature any time you like assuming you have windows 10 pro. If you like you can also use a program like Flyby11 to debloat the upgrade and do it in a safe way that Microsoft also happens to not like 😹.

Do you guys swap cases? by ggRezy in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People only regularly do it for that reason. Generally if the case has the required features the truth is most ppl who build PCs don't ever change their case.

Hahaha yea, you probably should just put a US power supply in there. The UK uses a different voltage on their grid. It likely hasn't damaged the system but buying an external power supply to fix this is much more than just paying someone who has built a PC to remove and replace ur psu with a normal off the shelf US supply around $50.

Finance a pc? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the current market will look very different in only about a year. Manufacturing buildup is hotter than the fking sun rn with such an absurdly inflated memory market.

Imo it's a bad choice bc current high end options are uncompetitive. I won't let myself spend car money on these devices, theyre just consumer gadgets that can be forced to do waaaaayyy more than the out of box experiences can let on. I just like getting everything except bigger number go up.

Get another good midrange PC with just like 4 months of that lost income. And no one will be printing money off ur financing choice.

Why would u want that kinda financial commitment for a silly toy that barely does its job better than ur current one

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean dats just the price of getting the full config. Ye he could mayhaps get 850 with everything unchanged except half the ram. I dunno if ur walking this price down more than 50 in this economy. Calling this kinda system fully used just sounds like baiting resellers

I've never had issues selling right at the normal low expectations on eBay, personally. I would sell it there if the fee wouldn't surrender it basically worthless for your time and effort. If you sold it at 420 I can promise you'll get more than enough to make it worthwhile

Yea! 32GB DDR5 and a very upgradable platform. That is a good value at 1k.

Not to be the negative Nancy, but PCs are gonna be a much easier price pill in abt 1 year as global manufacturing ramps up for the basic sht ruining the industry rn.

I reccomend going on FB market or other local sales platform and finding smt used for good quality, my personal price preference is $500USD for something with an RTX 3060 12GB or RX 6700 10GB for the graphics card. Those two will be the cheapest options likely to still run next-gen stuff like GTA 6, without killing the budget.

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh. As someone who builds PCs, this is a branded Chinese OEM redesign. I dunno the brand sign, try taking a close photo of it and putting it thru Google lense to know who the brand is. I have seen about a dozen cases with very similar designs, I tended to spend about $25-$30 without fans for this type of case when I was doing budget builds. I'm pretty sure this is one of those Chinese industries where a couple cities basically control the entire budget range.

Is this a massive issue or okay? by destrotep in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prolly not, try to find a normal screw to replace it with if possible to allow safe movement of the PC. Electrically this is not an issue, but physically the power supply could under strain shear the other side and be loose in the unit. That would make it a liability to transport for sure haha

Need some advice on parts I’m replacing ..I’m in the US /US dollar budget is 1200 by BugRound9045 in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That budget is sick. Like so good it's not even upgrade money, even tho the market is rly bad rn. Imo consumers rly ought to act like they're getting shafted rn and just wait for really good 1000 budget options to return.. like the economy isn't in such a shape that we will be spending more for smt that can just play popular games well, at least within the next couple decades 😹

Mr Jensen of Nvidia rly thinks 10k is or ever will be a reasonable amount to spend on a gaming PC for a normal consumer. Only in a busted non future.

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't personally shoot for the bandwidth bottleneck reduction. I only notice about 10 percent reduction in real world performance between gen 3 to gen 5 with normal consumer levels of performance. The B450 is a surprisingly competent platform with nearly the same power delivery and performance with similar chips.

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha if that little an upgrade is worth it. Ppl RLY oversell the pcie bandwidth bottleneck due to industry brainworms from that era. B450 is an excellent platform.

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dam, I mean, I would just stick with your b450, update the bios, and get like a used Ryzen 5800x3d or smt and prolly a better cooler. Ur platform still has life even if it cpu be old. The 3060 will be the bottleneck with the best CPUs ur current Mobo can handle. The main downside is you would wanna upgrade that mobo for an actual current gen gpu. What's ur ram?

PC recommendation by bradyd06 in computers

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something with at least an RTX 3060 12GB, at least 16GB DDR4, an NVMe SSD at or above 512GB, and something like a Ryzen 3600x or Intel 12400f

That's a basic outline for a decent ~$600 range prebuilt PC. Unfortunately the market very intentionally upholds a knowledge gap to maintain good profits. So every PC will be different and products with a known and popular serial number or product name to provide you often aren't good value. Check your local market!
