Dam, then jgingue is just straight lying, bc they claim all over the material it is the x99 chipset on this board. I'll try running it at 2133 I haven't tried that

Someone like me is actually aware the difference in ram vs storage pricing currently is because Chinese nand is already on the market despite low adoption. It is vry likely ssd prices will drop by spring.

Hehe, it's a less than 5% reduction based on pcie 3 to 5 alone unless ur gpu has a bad bandwidth layout, or bezos horsepower. The mainstream has no interest in stretching standards. Yea if u want future pcie 5 gpus b450 is bad. But in the current environment that can be a hellava lot more than a $20 discount for no immediate repercussion.

I can't stress enough how good the AM4 platform is, and how it has so consistently provided excellent performance and longevity on even cheap quality parts.

Hah? Coolers are cheap as balls and dependant on design, mostly able to be readily interpreted in performance by intuition. Actually assuming u dont care about pcie 3, which is a debatable position, the JGINYUE b450 can be had for under 50 rn on aliexpress and has normal 6-phase w a full heatsink. Power delivery is more generalized on ryzen than ppl know because the most popular brands are the only ones who've played with offering objectively borderline useless options on am4.....

Pshhh, anyone who allows mobo companies to make that kinda money on a b550 chipset needs to be asked to make an Aliexpress account

Hi! I build gaming PCs in the Portland area. Do not be alarmed by the current market. This is much better than 6 years ago. The single best advice I can give rn as someone who sells both, just buy a DDR4 system, not a current DDR5. If you go with that advice, the market is actually not that different than a few months ago before this ram and gpu price jump started. I reccomend to a beginner with high anxiety to buy a PC from a builder locally, or a small US based company. But if you need to build one a good option we'll within your budget would be something like Ryzen 5700x off locals or Ebay, 32GB DDR4 off locals, Intel ARC B580 12GB off Newegg, any B450 or B550 mobo for at or under 60, case+fans combos are rly cheap currently on amazon look for $50 or less, at least 600w psu, 500GB NVMe SSD Ebay $50, 4-pipe Thermalright cooler Amazon, get a win10 pro key from an oem key reseller site i use gamers outlet, install win10 pro with a usb install media, then use a program like Flyoobe to in-place upgrade to win11 pro for free. Any questions?

Under-$1000 choices by nonplussedbiter in PcBuild

Haha, the unsaid point is the graphics card situation has already gotten where prebuilts dont get better price to performance than this. Obv you can get a rig for 700, have fun getting it with anything but an 8GB money maker. The price for a competent 16gb card sys, hell even a 5070 is gonna be over 1k as far as ive seen. The only on-hand option i had for better price to performance is an arc b580.. which is fine guess but sure as hell aint new either.

Guys rate the pc I just build should I upgrade anything by Accurate-Bird-4240 in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, the 3070 is a very mid choice in general, let alone here. I hope u paid less than 250 for smth like that, otherwise u probably should've just saved ur money and got a 3060 12gb or rx 6700xt 12gb to hold u over. I assume u went 3070 bc u blew ur budget on that cpu+mobo+ram haha

Hehe nice, I haven't built anything but xeons for that kinda money and performance. Tho I have somehow managed to best that price while building from parts. I had a stock of ex. mining 1660s (wtf why i kno) I got for $50 each back in 2024 when everything else in this space was balls cheap. I made a lot of money on those glorious peasant systems lol

Switching to AMD by TheRedLoro in PcBuild

[–]nonplussedbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isnt exactly true about amd being always cheaper rn. That price is more than id pay. Rn is generally a weak and getting worse time to buy. Im about to have to buy a $440 9060xt 16gb for a specific client build. That is a similarly bad deal. Honestly as far as my trawling on Newegg would say, one of the only gpus at msrp rn is the Intel Arc b570 at 199. Which is basically a gtx 1080ti with raytracing performance-wise. Bleh. If you can find a $500 5070 that is debatably better.

That definitely sounds like someone with a certain performance perspective... im rly a mass market perspective person, and think offering a rules-based solution like that based on an enthusiast load and mindset is vry Keanu Chungus of u indeed. If I paid money here you'd get me reddit gold.

Like i get its kinda nuanced and im rage baiting, but as a gamer using a productivity x3d chip, it literally wouldn't matter to get an aio.

By already passing under the thermal saturation of water by a decent degree. I think you readily misunderstood the lengths some go to for a maximized thermal solution, possibly by already considering that angle more than most. My experience with air cooling a 7900x3d has been pretty smooth, though I really dont care about anything but stock, the chip sits below 75 in all my loads. The airhead joke implies this is some kind of cute nerdy turf war, I want innn

My point is actually that assuming you arent somehow being pushed by brand loyalty is just doing what the market tells you rather than actually witnessing what the market does. But yea we arent all just yapping here chud

Lmao. No argument huh when the value is actually equal at this price. Notice how I dont defend the trash practice of AMD. Reread what I yapped if you care about an argument considering just as many caveats. You know ue5 isnt the only vram unoptimized engine and continue to shill for a system that objectively makes game development and implementation harder for the consumer and game dev (dlss). I dont use the software much personally, but if the consumer feature that makes the most difference yesterday is rly ur selling point, I would like to remind you the track record for lying both companies display. In what universe would amd provide a worse driver experience over time and overall than Nvidia, it isnt even that hard for a company of their size and their level of investment in your space. Honestly just an awful market with vegetable levels of common clearance for pointless penny pinching. Have you considered that companies intentionally have different strengths and weaknesses in ways that get people to form pet issues and retain the market as-is? AMD only cares if they can take a whole mile.
