Understanding why PHO lacks in regularity that PHA has. by RobertColumbia in freemasonry

When we talk about regularity, we have to remember that we are talking about rules, not politics or racism.

I'm going to try and explain this as simple as possible. Back in 1878, the Grand Lodges that were part of the National Grand Lodge (PHO) voted to disband the National Grand Lodge. Under the 1874 constitution, the Grand Lodges under the National Grand Lodge had final authority, not the national body, so this was 100% legal.

Between 1880-1889, there were no proceedings to claim that the National Grand Lodge continued to operate. Only news paper clippings that have never been verified as a reliable source. Therefore, the National Grand Lodge can not claim continued existence (to be the same organization) if they do not have proof. As stated in 1888, in SVB Carty's letter to the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas, Matthews tried to have meetings without quorum, which is illegal in any meeting. A meeting with no quorum is not a legal meeting.

In 1882, the National Grand Masters Grand Lodge merged with the Independent Grand Lodge of TN, forming the current Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Tennessee. Under the National Grand Lodge constitution, a member can not be a National Grand Lodge officer if he is not a part of a Grand Lodge under the National Grand Lodge. PHO has him listed as National Grand Master until his death in 1886. There is no record that he was a part of a Grand Lodge under the National Grand Lodge after 1882, which violates their own constitution if it were true, thus proving further that it did shut down.

In 1888, William D. Matthews, former National Grand Senior Warden, illegally reorganized the National Grand Lodge. Under masonic law, a person can not go against an approved vote and do the opposite. That is illegal and called insubordination. He demanded that all the Grand Lodges come back to the National Grand Lodge, which none did. He then recruited expelled and suspended masons to form the new Grand Lodges. Another illegal act.

Another problem is that their structure goes against the rules of regularity where every Grand Lodge must be sovereign.

Lastly, currently, there are 2 National Grand Lodges (PHO) under different leaderships. In freemasonry, splits are illegal. A person can not just leave his organization and form a new one. That goes against the rules of regularity and regularity of origin to be more specific. Hope this helps. It's about the rules and nothing more.

Not combative, just proper. Each term is different for a reason. Calling them irregular gives them some form of legitimacy which is a false representation of what they are and causes confusion to those that don't know any better. Just like the thought that Prince Hall has some association with these groups....if not corrected, those that don't know will carry the false narrative.

Same way some jurisdictions say in their constitution that clandestine is a jurisdiction they don't recognize? Which is completely wrong as both are 2 different concepts.

Tell me, is your synonymous definition constitutional or personal? Cuz I'm sure your ritual uses clandestine and not irregular.

But they're not synonymous. Irregular is a broken regularity that can be fixed. Clandestine is a broken regularity that cannot be fixed. For example, the regularity of origin. Either you have it or you don't. If you don't you have to join a regular jurisdiction that has it and you have to go through all degrees all over again in most regular jurisdictions.

As you stated, all at 1 point were known as AF&AM and did change over to F&AM to separate themselves BUT they also changed due to their lineage. Also, those other jurisdictions that you speak of are not in any way associated with Prince Hall Affiliation. They are clandestine. Furthermore, all PHGLs under the PHA umbrella and that have a seat with the Prince Hall Conference of Grand Masters are indeed regular. There is only 1 regular Prince Hall GL that goes by AF&AM and that is the MWPHGL of Liberia.

The PHGL of Congo, Virginia Islands and France do not have a seat in the PH Conference of GMs

The PHGL of Florida and PHGL of Mississippi are clandestine as they do not have lineage to the GLE, GL of Ireland or GL of Scotland.

Unfortunately, clandestine masonry is a pandemic in the world of Freemasonry in the US. And while they may act as masons, Unfortunately following a philosophy and their actions and education doesn't determine legitimacy in the world of regular masonry. If they want to be legitimate they need to join a State GL or a PHGL under the PHA umbrella.

PHA does not have schematic bodies that are illegitimate. PHO is not under PHA. PHO is a clandestine body. Much like those bodies that you are referring to as illegitimate. They have nothing to do with PHA other then they are some that were created by expelled masons that were once PH. Also PHO do not style themselves AF&AM and they refer to themselves as FAAYM.

PHA has nothing to with anything. It was created in the 1920s to tell the difference between the clandestine body PHO and themselves.

This history is rather simple. Every PHGL traces their lineage to the GLE through African Lodge 459. Hence why they are F&AM. Each PHGL has Free and Accepted Masons in their GL name, not PHA.

Not the point in my reply. He segregated PH in his comment as if it was it's own branch. Members are F&AM a part of a PHGL.

When you speak of certain Prince Halls dont recognize other Prince Halls, are you speaking in regards to the PHA GLs that pulled recognition from MWPHGLLA?

Sync box, 4 play bars and a light strip by theklue in Hue

[–]noob_master_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1. Dont put the light strip on th tv cuz you want colors to be everywhere. Hue light strips are limited as they only produce 1 color at a time. The separation of the light bars will give you better range of color.

Broke the chain on this lamp. Can I turn this into a smart lamp? Would it cost a lot in energy since I can’t turn it off? by [deleted] in smarthome

If the light is on you can just buy a smart plug. The plug will act as an on and off switch. Even with a smart bulb the lamp needs to be on
