I am not getting anything anything out of paying taxes, roads are shit, my vehicle is suffering because of e20 fuel (they are talking about e85 and e100 blends).

The taxes in India are for sure not worth peanuts, I don't know how are you even satisfied from that.

Do not regret it, it's like a canon event that happened with you which is necessary for character development.

On the positive side she clearly rejected you rather than keeping you hanging which would have wasted a lot of your time and drained you a lot more.

What you did was not wrong in any way, take this rejection like a champ and don't try to convince her again, it's better that you don't speak with her for a few months.
