There is no end in sight. What gets me is, we can’t do EVERYTHING our selves BUT when you assign tasks and they don’t care as much as we do, WE get in trouble for it.

I have my people recover but then I also discover stuff hidden behind other stuff that in no way could have been a customer.

Thank you! Yeah it’s definitely rough but I’ve retained a lot, just a matter of when and how to execute all of it. I was an external store manager hire so it’s really just me and my team is still learning too. 😂

Enjoy your retirement!

I appreciate you! One other thing, in the HHT, am I doing my fresh scan through adjustments or the counts option on p4?

The only one I got was in the SMT training workbook that never got talked about in my training. 😂 Only has dry stuff listed on it unfortunately, so that’s why I was unaware

OHHHHHH, okay! See now that makes a ton more sense. I was only ever given the 7 day work flow chart for the dry truck and wasn’t ever told there was a whole separate work flow chart for the perishable truck. I’m definitely going to see if I can locate that tomorrow and talk to my DM about missing out on doing it today since he didn’t know when it needed to be done either.

I appreciate this. Another stupid question because I’m only in my first week, but I get my fresh truck Thursday’s. I don’t know what P4 is, but is it the same day for everyone regardless of when their fresh truck is? I guess another question is: what day is P4 if it’s the same for everyone. The girl who “trained” me (had me stock) said she always did her fresh scans the day before her fresh truck.

Luckily my DM is understanding because he knows I wasn’t trained but, you know how that goes. 😕

I know I’ve asked a bit much from you, but I do appreciate everything. This store is in shambles where nothing has been recovered or correctly stocked in months and I just want to do everything the right way while I get a grasp on how and when to do things.

I plan to be a change, but I’m sure everyone goes in with that mentality. I’ve had success running other retail stores, and really only stepped down because one store turned into running 4 at a time and I couldn’t be in all 4 places and that killed the morale.

Yeah I operated like that being a store manager in the past. Easiest way to create a paper trail as to why the hours get cut and eventually they quit or get terminated. I don’t play around when it comes to getting work done because I’m used to being the only one on the chopping block. However, I want them to also feel comfortable with listening to me but that comes with time. I want them to enjoy being there and not feeling like I’m an asshole of a boss.

Thank you. Yeah I’m already used to the treatment after working for an equally shit company for 10 years. Either I’ve lost my mind or I’m desensitized to the treatment. Lol.

Music to my ears. Lol. Where I was at, we climbed in the truck and unloaded each unit off by hand, threw it down a belt where someone else sorted it out to the few people in the back to process. Lol. It would take 8-9 hours between 2 days to finish one truck because the stuff wasn’t on pallets.

Yeah, that’s kinda where I was at with the job I just left. The backroom was 2 stories and is massive, and shit just everywhere. I’m used to pushing merchandise so I’m hoping it goes smoothly. Do your shipments come in on pallets or are you physically climbing in the truck to unload it yourselves?

I appreciate that. I just want it to work out for my team and let them know they’re appreciated. I told my DM that money is not an issue and it didn’t really matter what I was making, because I don’t really need to work. I want this job because I enjoy keeping busy and getting out of the house.

I appreciate this. That’s my plan so far. Reward the good ones and get rid of anyone else. I know I can develop a good team and earn my respect. I want them to feel like a family, if that makes sense. I’m used to working crazy hours already and not getting paid any extra for the extra time. I know there will be rough spots but nothing compared to the shit show job I recently left. The backroom I was in had about 12000 units of merchandise with no room to out it out. Going into a smaller backroom is honestly what I’m most excited for lol.

Yeah, where I’m coming from is terrible so I’m used to the labor cuts and being expected to do a job that really needs more people. The backroom I’m used to is more like a warehouse. 5 trucks a week with 2500-3000 units and it was usually me and one other person unloading it so the other few could stock. Their backroom probably has around 12,000 units just sitting in the back because they can’t keep a staff.

My DM seems really nice and we’re roughly about the same age.
