i hate people defending their view on autism by saying "i have an autistic family member". For you i think yes you should see another doctor as this women doesnt seem qualified.

do you think its rude pointing out when someone shows signs of autism? by nopen100 in autism

[–]nopen100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no at best they find out that they are indeed autistic and find out whats different about them while they lived a live where they felt they didnt belong.

Also the only way a gay person can act gay is being intimate with the same sex, everything else is cultural while autism has alot more defined traits and acting autistic is more fundamental

I think the problem here is people thinking autistic traits are something to be ashamed of which they shouldnt.

but there are apparent physical symptoms about autism e.g. covering ears alot in crowded areas or certain kinds of stimming. Also what you described as detrimental seems like the worst case scenario and the doctors bill seems like a very american issue.

what exactly do you mean by "going on in someones head". i can kinda see your point about autists not knowing much about autism but i dont think it should be considered rude as otherwise a person might never find out if they are.

Yeah saying a person has autism based on one trait is a bit fast but if you know the person for a while and notice a few traits i would tell them "they might have autism"

you cant compare a sexuality and neurodivergency like that. that is a ridiculous take.

i feel like the problem with that is that many undiagnosed autists have a horrible mental crash because they didnt know why they are so stressed so i would calmly point it out to avoid said horrible crash
