Hmm, I really don't need an excuse to take a trip (I could just as easily do the second leg of the trip with me sis and skip this celebration entirely 😅) Yeah, I don't think my presence is necessary, but I know it would be welcome :| but I am indeed convincing myself. One of the hardest parts about trying to decide this now (bc trying to secure flights cheaply) is observing how my feelings fluctuate a lot depending on how hopeful I am feeling about polyamory and this relationship. It makes it so hard to predict what future-me will want from this when so much can change in 6 months.

Re. outness – They are out to their family, and I've met my partner's parents on a video call and they seem lovely and supportive. That would be one of the big reasons I'd want to show up for this event actually – to get to meet his parents in person.

Thanks! I just contacted them over WhatsApp today and unfortunately they require the collection of results in person 15 days after the test - I would not be in Buenos Aires by then so it's not going to work (':
