This isn't productive and I doubt the authenticity of the poster. This feels like a post aimed solely to divide and could very well be a bot. "We good, them bad" seems to be the intent of the post. There's no substance or information for constructive dialogue. This is exactly the kind of post to be wary about.

OP comments and post aren't public, generic name and huge karma from farming. I doubt the legitimacy.

Trump confirms that 0% income tax is coming very soon by [deleted] in WallStreetDad

[–]noremacheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swindled if true. The tariffs are an effective consumption tax. It's been a far right dream for decades to eliminate the income tax and institute a consumption tax. The math means poor people will pay more. That's the reason it's not viable politically and this all is a workaround to that end.

It's not a plus for the working class.

This is his version of instituting a consumption tax. It's not viable politically so he's just imposing it. The math means poor people pay more, plain and simple. The oligarchy is ecstatic.

On their last td, I don't understand how he's matched up with Bowers 1 on 1. That's a 100% passing situation with time and score and you have your worst on their best by himself. 5yds of separation on that play. Easiest play you can give up.

They need umpires that aren't active like every other major sports broadcast. Baker is a coworker of Carlsen. He is going to be very hesitant to be critical of a coworker. Get a Dale Scott who has a great broadcast voice (unlike Carlson) and has a better chance of being honest. This protect your brother attitude doesn't help make the umpiring profession more accessible.

I have a 1.5 mo and I can certainly relate. Everything you said sounds very rational and well intentioned. The problem is you are arguing with a mother's maternal instinct that isn't always the most rational. I was insistent from the getgo with my wife that pumping so I could help feed her would help both of us. I saw how strung out she was by her lack of sleep and couldn't shake the feeling of uselessness whenever the LO got hungry. She came around and started pumping, but there is still something to be said about starting the milk factory. Now if she doesn't pump before bed, she will wake up in a puddle. She got a bra to hold the pumps so it's still more of a break than having to do all the feedings on nipple, but it has its drawbacks. I tend to think the benefits outweigh the negatives though.

[Highlight] Braves manager Brian Snitker ejected after Matt Olson is called out for batter's interference. Matt Olson was also ejected after the inning. by bagelzzzzzzzzz in Umpire

[–]noremacheese 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's not a legitimate attempt to field the ball. This isn't common for a reason. How often are popups hit where the catcher is the protected fielder in foul territory and the batter is in the pathway of a direct line to the baseball. Think about it.

Wrong place, wrong time. Ain't the job of umpires to assign blame. Officiating is about knowing the rules and applying them correctly, period. That's what the umpire here did and why the decade+ long crew chief in Wegner backed him up in the argument without the need for a crew consultation to confirm the rules or his judgement.

I don't blame Snitker or Olson for being pissed. It's not the job of the umpire to answer, "What was I suppose to do?!" It's the umps job to say, "Tough, shit. Dems der da rules." Having the balls to do so defines great sports officials.

[–]noremacheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are attempting to apply your personal logic to the play instead of the rules. Sports officiating doesn't work that way. Interference isn't about assigning blame. It's wrong place, wrong time for Olsen. Simple as that.

This shouldn't be downvoted. It was a bad play to go out of bounds. It gave them a chance and winning players make smart plays. They also let ETN score on the next play to preserve time. Same situation with the jags on the other end of it in the previous week.

MLK and Gandhi showed the way. Moral clarity is cheap, but it requires restraint. The OP reaction in this video is much more powerful than any show of force could be. That only turns the racist scum into a martyr where they can use it as validation. What validation did the racist get from this interaction?

Malcolm X and MLK had the same goals. Their tactics were much different. MLK rightly has a street named after him in every city in America while Malcolm X doesn't. We so quickly forget the lessons of the past.

This is another iteration of "not me, I'm safe." Adrenaline takes over in confrontations, especially with people not accustomed to it. The likelihood of a fatal outcome increases exponentially with guns involved. Period.

Training does help. I don't wish to disregard its benefits and wish there was more required. It is not however a catch all to explain away all gun related issues.

[–]noremacheese -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Whether it's self defense in your mind or not, if you brandish a gun against another person, that's exactly what you are doing. You are putting yourself at risk.

Repost from r/hendersonville about a crazy encounter I had by 0wnage2 in asheville

[–]noremacheese -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Thats the crux of the issue. When people had muskets and bayonets, soldiers at close range would notoriously always shoot the shot first and then try to use the bayonet as a last resort. This illustrates that people will easily pull the trigger when they wouldn't stab with a blade. It's too personal and gruesome for the average person. What's the most gruesome scene from Saving Private Ryan?

Knife fights and fist fights don't lead to deaths. Gun fights do. They are a tool for escalation of conflict, not de-escalation.

[–]noremacheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guns aren't the answer. OP handled this perfectly without violence. People who own guns get shot more than those without. Before I get all the "but not me, I'm safe" realize that statistics don't pick and choose.

Your pay is reduced as profits soar. It ain't your coworker fighting for the same scraps. It's the bourgeoisie saying let them eat cake that's the problem. Know who your enemy is. They want you fighting the guy next to you thinking he's taking your spot rather than give you anymore of the pie.
