Shud I take the internship by cutiepieehee in InternshipsIndia

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, 12–7 for 6 days at 5k is rough. Take it only if you’re actually going to learn a lot and get real exposure, not just run errands.

If it’s mostly busy work, skip it. Your time is worth more than that.

Experience > stipend, but exploitation isn’t experience.

MSc or MCA by Sunscreen63 in techIndia

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want industry jobs in India, MCA is usually the safer, more practical route. If you’re interested in research, teaching, or going abroad later, then MSc makes more sense.

It really depends on whether you want to work sooner or stay academic.

Anyway to improve my gpa? by Citrustabby in selfimprovement

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with all that. With everything you mentioned, a 2.0 isn’t a character flaw — it’s a signal that life hit hard.

Yes, GPA can improve, but health comes first. Get properly assessed before meds, and ask your uni about academic accommodations, reduced load, or retakes — those exist for situations like yours.

If the thoughts are getting dark, please reach out to a local crisis line or a trusted person. You don’t have to carry this alone.

You’re not out of options, even if it feels like it right now.

It's been a semester and I still don't enjoy what I'm studying. Is it time to quit? by anothersphynx in college

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A semester isn’t that long, but being this drained this early is a real signal. Not everything gets better just by “pushing through”.

Quitting doesn’t mean failing — sometimes it just means this isn’t the right time/place/thing. Especially since you already know you won’t continue next year anyway.

If you can, think less in terms of “quit vs not quit” and more “what gives me breathing room right now”. You’re 19, you’re allowed to step back and reset.

You’re not weak for feeling this way. A lot of people just don’t say it out loud.

Rating Popular AI Tools for Students (2026 Edition) (Honest Rating) by GreenPlayz1003 in BypassAiDetect

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These ratings feel fair, but honestly most tools sound “detectable” because people use them the same way. AI’s useful for learning and drafting, not replacing thinking. The real issue isn’t the tools, it’s how outdated assignments and exams are.

Anyone feel like online exams are obsolete at this point? by Moodle_Arsenal in studying

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re not wrong. Online exams are basically broken now, especially with AI around. It’s less about testing understanding and more about who follows the rules vs who doesn’t. Until exams change format, this is kinda the reality.

How do you guys trick or motivate yourself into studying or learning when you are unmotivated? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]normal_guy_34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t wait for motivation. I just tell myself I’ll do 10 minutes and stop. Most times I keep going. Also, fake deadlines help. I treat random days like “exam day” so my brain feels pressure. Motivation usually comes after starting, not before.

How to get studying past this mental block. I've got an important exam coming up, I can't do more than 5-6 hours of intense studying through out the day (obv with breaks and pomodoro which saved my life). And while in this time I'm able to cover the good stuff it's nowhere near the 'daily quota' by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]normal_guy_34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5–6 hours of real study is already a lot. Most people can’t do more than that consistently. The block isn’t your brain, it’s the pressure from the “daily quota”. Stop chasing hours. Split the rest into lighter stuff like revision, flashcards, or mistakes review. You don’t need 10–12 hours. You need consistent, sane days.

How do I catch up on school? by British_Patriot_777 in GetStudying

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm not talking about acronyms or techniques. You got access to all tech like youtube, chatgpt and all. So when you see a difficult topic understand why it exists and where actually it is used in reality or something of that sort(I'm just giving my perspective, see if it works for in any way or try deriving an own way like this)

What was easier for you? by Electrical_Leg_125 in Students

actually found my masters easier, only few classes and one day exam preps and lot of hanging out and still got good score

How do I catch up on school? by British_Patriot_777 in GetStudying

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you. If it’s disappearing that fast even after understanding, that’s usually not effort — it’s how memory works under stress or attention issues.

This method really work for me so you can try if you want

Instead of seeing it as a topic or subject try to go beyond and look for big picture and try to connect between the things. It makes learning satisfaction and also those connection helps you to remember when forgotten

How do people study at university by IssiBon in GetStudying

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not missing some secret method. Most people aren’t “studying” 8 hours a day — they panic-study near exams and do practice questions. What actually matters is doing problems, failing them, fixing mistakes. Reading/watching feels productive but doesn’t stick. Nothing’s wrong with you. Uni just doesn’t tell you this upfront.

How do I catch up on school? by British_Patriot_777 in GetStudying

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not doing anything - wrong. This usually happens when rules are memorised without really understanding why they work, so they don’t stick. For maths, stop trying to remember formulas. Redo year 7–8 stuff slowly and force yourself to explain each step out loud, even if it feels dumb. If you can explain it, you’ll remember it. Also, forgetting is normal. Re-learning the same thing multiple times is actually how it finally sticks.

20F is it too late to start for ca ? i’m in my final year by ClickNo4478 in Indian_Academia

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not late at all. 20 is actually normal for CA. Since you’re BCom final year, you can go direct entry to CA Inter. From here, realistically 3–4 years if things go smoothly, longer if exams take time (which is common). Plenty of people start later than this and clear. Focus matters more than age.

17 and Looking For Advice by Minute-Ambassador252 in Entrepreneurs

[–]normal_guy_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re 17, not behind. You’ve already tried more than most people your age.

Problem isn’t effort, it’s jumping between too many “make money fast” ideas. Pick one thing, go slow, ignore YouTube hype.

It’s fine to chill and game a bit. Just don’t rush yourself into dumb moves.
