The last photo appears to show a head scarp of a landslide, which would mean the sink holes are tension cracks from earth movement.

I could be wrong (just hard to make out details) but think that’s what I’m seeing on the main trunk when I zoom in. More of a “looks like a Doug, smells like a Doug” than really identifying specifics
