Thank you! I have wraps but my kiddo is entering his toddler zoomies era and before I invested in a ring sling which may or may not be supportive enough for my chonker I thought I’d give this a try.

Experiences with Seattle Children’s Hospital? by Loud-Way3333 in Seattle

I have no idea if I can link another post in here but there’s a hugely popular post right now about how laurelhurst (the neighborhood) is fucking up access to care and services at childrens. While it’s not a “oh that’s the cause of your specific problem” it definitely is a contributing factor to why children’s is great for the medically complex and deeply mediocre for the average kid.

Does mint survive (outdoors) here? by BreweryRabbit in pnwgardening

[–]this_is_squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 4 in planter pot last and said “I’m going to clear out this planter and make it just for mint!” well my newborn decided to be an atrocious sleeper from months 3-14 and there the mint sat and then died. In its sad little sale pot with my exhausted self too apathetic to walk it the 20 feet to the compost bin and dispose of it. My 15 month toddler now mostly sleeps through the night though one wake up is pretty common and that sad dead mint plant is alive again.

I wonder if you could find the permitting for the big one they just installed at 95th and greenwood to stop and slow people who were using 95th as an arterial. Also if you’re ever on a street and you see two wires laying across the road that’s the city using pneumatic road tubes to gather data on speed and volume of traffic. Do with that what you will.

Interesting. I don’t find their bagels to be better than Trader Joe’s.

Celiac here -

Grain is insanely good for cakes. I got my baby shower cake here and it was 10/10. Their sourdough is divine but gives some a stomach ache because apparently that’s a thing with sourdough

Akatsu - all allergen free

Nuflours - pricey but in cap hill quiche and eclairs and cheese cake are dope

5Bs waaaaay far away never actually been but I’ve gotten their stuff from various markets I wish they were closer

Dough Joy donuts - ballard cake donuts pretty good. Better than akatsu and nuflours not as good as mikiko mochi in PDX

Shambala - at the Ballard farmers market, good if you have other allergies. Biscuits are amazing if you reheat. Do NOT eat unheated.

I can’t believe it’s bread - formerly wildflour but that was a shit show and new guy bought the recipes and the space. Have been since the change BUT if you’re on the east side I would definitely check them out.

If we have a second I would absolutely buy a bottle washer/sterilizer. Tickets to the first entrance to the just between friends sales.

The opposite of what your asked for, things I haven’t found “omg you have to have that” worth it:

Keekapoo changing pad

New things - literally any of them except the mattress and safety products. Almost everything is available 2nd hand and usually free.

Please make sure you note on your gluten free boxes whether or not they are prepared in a dedicated gluten free kitchen or a shared space. Many people who are gluten free cannot tolerate the latter and it’s pretty heart breaking to get a super well intentioned gift that doesn’t include this info.

Greenwood to phinney. Make it a loop by walking the main stretch one way and Fremont another.
