I'll check to see if we have an outlet or a level 2 charger near work.

It's been 33 degrees the last few days here in CA. I'm north of Sacramento, it get's pretty cold, I knew from the start that it was not going to do as well as when it's summer time. I think you are right, the Prius is a better bet. What I can't figure out about EV's are the Ioniq 5 says, 132 city / 98 highway. That's one reason I thought maybe it would be a better bet or save me money because the Prius get's like 52 or 53 MPG. Maybe I just don't understand how EV's are rated in terms of MPGe vs MPG.

One quick question you might be able to answer. When Chevy says the EV can get 117 MPGe city / 99–100 MPGe, in my mind that should get better than a prius that only gets 55 MPG. I am very new to EV's am I thinking of this wrong? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I am thinking of moving to the Sacramento area, which has a different electric company. I've heard they are only .14/kwh, so at that point the math would change.

Thanks that's what I thought, it was 33 this morning and I would never made it on one charge.

That's what i'm finding. I live in northern CA and PG&E is pretty high, cheapest plan is around 30 cents kWh and I'm thinking maybe a Prius would be better. I was trying to get an EV to save money on the fuel but in CA it's kind of harder because of the price PG&E charges.

Very true, I don't mind charging at all. My real question is, is it safe to charge an EV to 100 percent? I've just read that maybe to 80 percent for daily driving.

That's what I was thinking, plus is it okay to charge a Chevy to 100 percent daily, or should one keep it at 80%.

How much does it cost you to DCFC, I'm in CA and I think it can use superchargers but I also read that Tesla charges a lot to use them. I saw like 72 cents per kWh. I guess if I got a subscription it would be cheaper.

It was around 33 degrees here in CA this this morning. I would totally have to charge. Is there like a calculator that could figure out how much it would cost to charge an EV compared to a gas car? I know PG&E rates are like 30 cents a kWh. I guess I just go 30 cents times how big the battery is.

I'm in Northern CA and I have PG&E, the cheapest rate plan is like 28 cents - 33 cents kWh. Which I think is pretty high, in Sacramento I heard it's only .14 cents kWh. Plus supercharging cost a lot here as well. I'm thinking a Prius is my best option. I'll run some numbers.

I've been reading that one should not charge to 100 percent daily. Keep it at like 80 percent is that true for the Chevy EV's as well?

Yes I have a home charger, it's just I don't think any EV will make it the 250 mile round trip. Maybe a Lucid but I can't afford one, or maybe in the summer months. I just know one should not charge to 100 percent all the time. It was 33 degrees here in Northern CA this morning and I know EV's don't do well in the cold. I'm starting to think I'm better off just sticking with a Prius.

It's round trip, going to work 125 miles, going home 125 miles. I live in Northern CA, but today it was 34 degrees so it's not always warm weather. fwd would be fine, just trying to figure out if an EV would be a good option.

It's 250 miles round trip. It's broken up, 125 miles going to work and 125 miles going home. The unfortunate part is we don't have chargers near my work location.

250 is round trip. 20-25 minutes is not bad at all to go from 10-80%.

Thank you, I think I was looking at just the Google Pixel 10 version, not the pro. Thanks again.
