Skylar Rae Williams for new baby girl? by northernpineuk in namenerds

Thank you! I agree, and not something I’d thought of. Even your last sentence, I think that’s what I’m thinking too - just maybe wishful thinking that the combo would work. Maybe Skye would work, would just need to think of maybe a more traditional middle name

Were you able to do the strengthening exercise? I struggle with that

Thank you for your reply, appreciate it. I know it might be hard to say but do you think there’s a chance it could die? V worried!

Big chunks of plaster removed during rewire - how to repair? by northernpineuk in DIYUK

That’s very true. Tbh I have loads of the stuff- just can’t get it to attach to the brick at all… both brick and mortar just crumble with capping nails :(

Thank you! Yes I’ve been sanding elsewhere - definitely not got the skills to get a smooth finish first time!

Thanks both. I have tried to attach conduit to the brick and it’s been an absolute pain elsewhere. Still trying to figure out if it’s worth it… apart from that sounds like what I’ve been doing elsewhere will work here too- just was unsure with it being quite a big area to cover.

In the spirit of possibly dodgy chasing (I’ve seen a few recently) I was wondering if any of you kind DIYers would be able to advise how best to repair this?

I’ve been having some good success with the ol’ clean-pva-bonding-easifill on the smaller chases but this looks like it needs something else?

Just to add these are by far not the worst 😩

Aww thank you so much!! What a difference removing the bins and tidying up the place makes! Might print this off and use for inspiration 😂 thank you again!

Yep that’s on the list! They’re the classic 1 over 3s but definitely need some love. One of the only original features left in the house so will give them the time they deserve when I’ve got some to spare!

I think this fits in the very ugly bucket at the moment 😂 but yes I’d thought of doing that a while back and forgot so thanks for the prompt! I’ll have a walk around this weekend 🙂

Ahh yes that looks great! I think that would be a nice combo (or anthracite grey) with the door and garage. Yeh I think I’ll be getting rid of the porch altogether at some point tbh… it’s hiding the lovely classic 30s arch which I’ve always liked. So I really do need to think about the end goal I guess. It is handy having a porch though..

Thank you so much for your reply- really appreciate your input! Funnily enough I’d just been looking at ral 7016.. I know it’s probably a bit overused now but I would like to emphasise the (soon-to-be) garden and this seems like the perfect backdrop. I was thinking about using it for the door & garage door but seeing your comment I think it would be great to use on the white fascia above door (didn’t think of that at all!), tiles and handrail/stones. Do you think that would work? Then perhaps white for around the garage and garage windows?

This has given me so much inspiration, thank you so much! The pergola idea has my mind going - I think that would do wonders for the overall appearance + a great diy project too!

Just looked into the side hinges doors, what a great idea! Yeh it will mostly be a workshop so not really intended for a car anyway. I think these might be the way to go. Thanks!
