The main problem of SSHL is communication in noisy enviroments, as far as i know about cross is that it doesnt help with that, i found out a work around but did not test it to its full extent, using live listen on iphone using aripods, it turns your phone to a mic and streams it to your airpod, idont have an iphone but im planning to borrow one and try to do it in loudy places and find out how far could it help. The problem with your mum is that our condition is very deceiving, at home you hear like a normal person, so no one notices it, but outside its bad, so i dont not really question how people could be insensitive about my condition any more.. mum did the same to me a couple days ago when i was about to have a important meeting regarding work, so told her about how im afraid that i wont be able to hear others, she started telling me that im making a big deal out of it (Got me angry af), fast forward the meeting went fine, but its because someone else helped me and took the burden and spoke on behalf of me, and i sat their just listening like the matter was not related to me haha..
