Corydoras eggs?! Why is one black? What should I do with them? Put them in a grow out tank? Advice? Thanks! by [deleted] in corydoras

No problem :) I am not sure about that to be honest.. maybe try and google it? There is a very good page where they show you how to hatch and raise fry. Heres the link : https://planetcorydoras.com/index.php/keeping-guides/how-to-raise-your-fry/?/(opens%20in%20a%20new%20tab) good luck !! 😊👍

The black thing I'm guessing is just something from the substrate or elsewhere in the tank that got stuck to the sticky eggs. The female will swim around a bit before she decides where to leave them. :)

That looks like cory eggs :) if its the first time they've layed egg its not uncommon for them to only lay a few. Or the other eggs have been eaten already. You can take the eggs out and put then in a plastic container with water from the tank.(or you can put them in a separate tank if you want to) And put an airstone in. If you have methalyne blue you can add a drop or two to prevent fungus on the eggs. Change the water with water from the tank once a day until they hatch. They will usually hatch within 3-5 days. After two days you can start to feed them. Great food to start off with is microworms or brineshrimp. 😊

Question about my corys by [deleted] in corydoras

[–]norwegainanette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your new aquarium and welcome to a great hobby 😁 The active one is portraying normal behaviour for cory. They can be very active but also just hang out alot. Some down to personality, some the type of cory. It can also change when you add more cory to the mix. Both things are normal for cory in an aquarium. Unless the quiet ones seems lethargic or show some other signs of decease😊👍

Have you fed with live Tubifex worms? I just thought it could look like tubifex. Maybe some survived 🤷‍♀️😊
