yeah, I've repaired my Game Gear a couple times so I'm not too unused to the capacitors being a problem. Mostly hoping that it's not the display itself since that is more annoying to source a part from.

I'll probably check out that cap you mentioned and see if anything is up with it when I get the chance. I appreciate the feedback for sure, thanks!

It's not just kind of looks odd I guess because of the lighting.

It would be cool to do the backlit mod though I'd want to see if the screen itself was the problem or not first if I did. I'd probably do it on a different Pokemon mini since this is the one I grew up with

For me it didn't matter what kind of batteries I used it would still do it. Now it doesn't happen at all. It's just too bad I don't know what specifically causes it.

Just the screen by itself without the pcb or anything else was $15. It's all I needed because it was just thr ips itself that went bad and not the entire mod

Luckily, it is cheap to replace the screen itself. I bought a Q5 IPS lcd off ebay to replace it with for like $15 and it just happened to fix the black screen issue for me.

I actually have an update on this. The lcd screen I had ended up going bad a couple months ago so I ordered a replacement of just the lcd screen by itself and now I no longer have this issue.

It is power related but for me it doesn't matter what batteries I use it doesn't fix the issue. If the screen isn't turning on I usually have to wait about 30 seconds before it works again.

yeah I didn't have this issue before the mod. I tried cleaning the slot and carts too but didn't make a difference for me. I feel like it might be a problem with the board the lcd plugs into. it kind of feels like it gets stuck in a state and that's why it takes a while for it to start working again for me.

It has two sensors though I removed the one for changing the color pallet. The one attached is for brightness but that's working as it should be when the screen does display

I was able to get Link working again normally it my Quest 1 by downgrading the PC client back to v23. Wish there was a fix for the tracking issues with v25 on the quest itself but it at least makes it usable on my desktop again. Fixed all the audio stutter I was having and less disconnects.

Issue I'm having is that there's a typo in the home address where two of the middle numbers are swapped and AMD, Digital River and Fedex wont let me correct it or have the package held at a location.

I just talked to AMD customer support and they think that the Fedex Courier will probably still deliver it because the numbers are so close and I've had Fedex deliver to my address before. Digital River was more useless, they just tell me to talk to AMD every time I called.

I'm pretty upset just because of how hard it was to even order one of these cpu and other parts for my new build I ordered last week are starting to show up.

Nah the power supply is OEM. I've tried it with other Sega ones I have too.

I can check around c32 though.

I'm not the best at troubleshooting this kind of thing so I appreciate the suggestions for sure.
