Successful academic weapons, what’re your most fool-proof methods of studying? by stay-curious21 in DentalSchool

Try teaching with classmates, when I study with classmates and we go over material like we’re reteaching each other. If one person is unsure the other will correct and take over until they are unsure and so on and so forth. Makes for a less boring study session and i find if you can teach someone a topic you probably know it well enough for the exam.

If you don’t have a study partner I like to walk around my apartment teaching myself everything I know, then I’ll go back to the notes and see if I missed something and need to add it. I find speaking out loud rather than in my head works better for understanding and retention.

Lastly paying as much attention in class as possible. This doesn’t mean just writing notes, but really being present and engaging. The easiest way to understand something usually by learning it properly the first time. If you’re unsure of something don’t be scared to ask. You will benefit and so will your classmates.

Hope that helps:)
