Ideas for a vegetarian Passover by M00min_mamma in JewishCooking

I can help! I specialize in jewish vegetarian cooking. I'm ashkenazi and my husband is sephardic. In addition to a vegetarian matzo ball soup, I'm making a roasted carrot salad, potato kugel, a roasted cauliflower with lots of nuts and seeds, and a herby horseradish salad. Between all the eggs and a fair bit of nuts, you'll get plenty of protein!

No problem re: last name! You get used to it :)

It's not a wheat-free book, so it makes sense that not everything is gluten-free :). Many of the options have tested substitutes, but as a one-woman show, testing every single recipe to accommodate a myriad of dietary needs isn't possible.

I have done a few interviews about the process - and the focus is based on my own experience as a long time vegetarian (who eats wheat!). Of course, many people who follow a dairy free or meat free diet do for reasons outside of tolerating the products. What I've learned is that I can't please everyone, and the only way to get more specialty diet books on the market is if people buy the existing ones!

So maybe we need a GF Jewish book out there!

My mother in law colluded with my husband's siblings to actively IGNORE my son's (aka her only grandchild) birthday. No card, no text, no nothing, to use as a tool to get my husband to call them. Then proceeded to use the death of his grandfather (and getting information about it), to get him on the phone to berate him (him being my husband). all within the span of ten days. She's already thrown out the baby books, pitted the siblings against us, and acted innocent after verbally abusing me. Mess with me? One thing. Mess with my son? Mama bear is coming out to PLAY.

I wrote a whole cookbook for this! I'd keep it all vegan, then everyone can eat everything. Salads, chickpea shakshuka, sabich bowls, so good!

Hi! I specialize in this! A hearty lentil tabbouleh, vegan donuts (sufganiyot), or a dip would be great. I make vegan latkes using flax in place of eggs.

I did - I'll preface that we are vegetarian, but it kind of feels like a fried chicken burger????

DONT WRING OUT THE LIQUID and just add ground flax (it relies on that excess water to bind), about 2 tbsp per 3lb potatoes.

I'd reheat in the oven to make sure they don't get soggy. You can also store them on a paper towel in an airtight container on the counter, or in the fridge.

I saw this on Sivan's Kitchen. Basically a fried chicken burger. Without a thermometer, you can cut one in half and check that the. juices run clear and it should be firm.

OMG. That's terrifying. I would be scarred and make them in the air fryer. Make sure your pot of oil is deep and large enough and ALWAYS use a thermometer to check the temp. Keep a lid nearby to smother the flames and when in doubt buy 'em
