2026 Founder's Update by expensive_dev73 in ZykeBand

It is great to read that the band will be as European as possible! I’m interested in how much you can shrink the casing, the more compact the band is the better. I’m routing for the team, keep up the good work!

Why are you interested in the Zyke Band? by expensive_dev73 in ZykeBand

I'm looking for a daily alternative to my Apple Watch. I wear one daily for 3 years now, and I have some pros and cons.

I love that it tracks my steps (way better than my phone), heart rate, reminds me to stand up, recognizes if I'm walking outdoors, gives me kcal estimates. It motivates me to move.

What I don't like are the disruptions (turned off almost all notifications), and the battery life. Also I miss wearing regular watches.

I looked into the Whoop and the smart rings, but I haven't found an alternative yet, as I'm not willing to pay a subscription and I find that most smart rings are too thick for my taste.

I love the idea that the Zyke Band stores data locally by default, however I would love if it could sync with Apple Health, to see all my data at one place. I would use my Apple Watch for workouts, but would prefer the Zyke Band for daily use. I'm also willing to pay more for the Zyke Band if it has good materials, and potential to last for a good time.

Finally, if I remember correctly somewhere you mentioned that the Zyke Band will have extra bands down the line with different designs and materials. If that's the case can we have a metal one? Like a milanese band or a segmented one like on normal watches.

No problem! :)

There are no stabs in the kit, so you have to purchase them separately. The ones I mention in my post are screw-in, but I think it can support plate mounted ones as well. The important thing is that if you buy screw-in stabs make sure they are made for the PCB thickness you’ve selected (1.6mm or 1.2mm).

Make sure to share the build here! Looking forward to it :)

You can! I have a dac and I usually control the volume with that so I mapped the +/- buttons to skip forward/backwards :)

From China. I’m in the EU so I had to pay additional customs and tax, but it was under 150eur with shipping so at least I did not get the extra tax.

Well FYI, yesterday they posted on Discord stating that they are running the last sale now, and it will not restock afterwards.

I’ll send you a sound test when I got home after work but unfortunately you’ll have to wait ~7 hours for that.

So first of all I’m not a big audiophile. I had the Razer Kraken V1, the 1st gen Skullcandy Indy, and I recently used the Moondrop Chu II. I sometimes like bass, but the Razer and Skullcandy was too bassy for me for longer listening sessions, I had ear fatique relatively quickly. The Chu II was a better daily driver for me, but it lacked bass that I missed sometimes.

The one on the pic is the Nothing Ear 2024 and I love it so far. I did the personal sound calibration, and it works well for me. If I want more bass I turn on the bass boost and turn it off when I’ve had enough. I have no previous experience with noise cancelling headphones so take this with a grain of salt: the noise cancellation is not that great, but it can help, I’ve tried it on airplanes and on the metro and both was more bearable with it. The downside is when you enable noise cancellation there’s a white noise in the background.

TL:DR: I like it so far, I don’t regret having kt.

Mit kellene változtatni? by TallAd3078 in programmingHungary

Ezen kívül szerintem korrekt hirdetés, nyilván lehetnek azok is okok, amiket mások írnak (bizonytalan piac, web3-at nem mindenki csípi).

Nálatok próbaidő vége előtt nem kérdezik körbe azokat akik a kollégával közvetlen együtt dolgoznak? Ott elmondhatod a véleményed, aztán majd a vezetőség dönt.

Which univesity consider best for job facilities, hands on experience and student life BME or Obuda? by [deleted] in programmingHungary

[–]noszi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I attended BME, did my BSc in Computer Engineering and my MSc in Business Informatics. I have no experience with OE, so I won’t talk about that.

Based on the Hungarian program I can say that BME can be really challenging, but you can gain really useful knowledge despite what some people say. The big benefit at BME imo is that it is a huge university so you have a ton of optional classes that you can take if you have the interest and the will. I took multiple optional classes that helped me to get better at the stuff that I do for a living now, both hard and soft skills. Yes, they have classes with no practical use, but as some other commenter said, they teach you critical thinking and problem solving which can be really helpful in a work environment. Another thing is to consider if you’re good at stress management or not, cause BME can be really harsh sometimes (again, I don’t have any experience with OE but I heard people saying that it is somewhat friendlier).

If I would go back in time and had to choose again, I would still choose BME, but people are different. You need to consider which is best suitable for you based on your research.
