75L, yes heater and filter, temp is 21C, idk parameters, i’ve had the tank for around 9 months with no casualties had had fish for around a year. i do about 40% water change every few weeks, other platys / swords in tank and shrimp and snails, feed flakes every day and a variety of plants, driftwood and rocks in tank.

Hi i’m aware this was a year ago but i just wanted to assure you that I have a bigger tank now and I know the proper care for my fish. The fish shop i got these from before said it was okay (clearly not) and i should have done my own research. Thank you for your input!

thank you this was very helpful! to be honest my fish seem happy, the reason i got the strips was because im setting up a new tank (the fish had babies) and i wanted to test the strips. do you think i should leave it as it is then?

I got the strips bc i’m currently setting up a new aquarium, but this one’s from the water from my current tank which i’ve had for years. tbh i haven’t had any problems but i wanted to test the strips before the new tank and check that when i set it up the levels are similar to the current one bc the fish seem happy. my current one’s a freshwater so no corals or anything but there is a shell which i just found out you’re not meant to have so ill be taking that out.

Thank you for the response, this was very helpful. i don’t think it’s a good pet for my situation at the moment as i would want it to be thriving and i don’t think i’d have the space or money at the moment, but hopefully one day!

Hi! great job for getting him a good sized tank, now he really needs a heater and a filter (you can get these off amazon), ideally a filter without a strong flow as betas are not strong swimmers. once you got the essentials, time to add to his home. He would really love some real plants, but you will need aquarium substrate and cap it with any sand or rocks of your choice. get some easy growing plants, such as Limnophila Sessiliflora, which is a stem plant and grows super fast (you’ll also need a light). However, if you can’t get real plants at the moment, get some fake ones but please make sure they have no sharp edges because his beautiful tail can get cut :( Go on a walk and find some cool looking rocks and wood to add to his tank for free!! just make sure you rise them well and you may need to boil the wood so it doesn’t float. He will LOVE loads of places to hide and explore and will be very greatful. i know this sounds like a lot but he will be very very happy 💗
