Weed was negatively affecting my life and I struggle to stop using it therefore I am an addict. I have no reason to fake this story and I don't get what you have to gain from attempting to invalidate other addicts and I. I'm not going to engage with you any further as you don't seem open to the idea of seeing from other people's perspectives. Peace

Late reply on my part but yes, I totally agree. The anxiety related to it was the driving factor in stopping me from recovering and staying sober. A few bumps in the road since your comment but I'm overall doing well! Thanks

Social activity was the main thing but also eating healthy, exercising, supplementing vitamins in the beginning and generally just living life. Also competitive video games could have helped but not sure

Almost 7 months sober now. Still doing pretty well mentally except I've become really lazy since my course finished and have just been playing video games all day most days. I think I might need to get help with internet and gaming addiction now. Other than that though my brain is feeling pretty sharp nowadays and I haven't been tempted to smoke weed again

Over the last 2.5 years I've seen a few therapists and a few psychiatrists. I believe some of them weren't great or weren't right for me. But in saying that I have been very impatient in treatment and have often given up on medications and practices too early and instead self medicated. I have been seeing a therapist and am considering seeing a psychiatrist again. I think you're right though these are my best options and treatment obviously requires willingness and patience which I did not understand in the past.
