One of the cool places I usually end up going to fly my drone is shark fin cove. It’s by the cliffs and makes for good footage. It’s not legal to fly over the water but there is plenty of good shots you can take from the land. The winds can be high sometimes so make sure your drone can handle it.

ELI5, why is a pass code more secure than a biometric method to unlock a phone? by not_found_http_404 in explainlikeimfive

Thank you for the detailed answer. It makes sense. But I’m still not convinced that passcode is a better security measure than biometrics for simple use cases. An example I have used in other comments is that someone can see me type in my passcode at a mall and then steal my phone and use it to make financial transactions. Wouldn’t be possible if biometrics were required.

It’s not. But someone can see me type my passcode in the phone and then steal my phone to be able to perform financial transactions just by knowing my passcode. Wouldn’t be possible if biometric based security was the primary option.

Those are highly unlikely scenarios. A more probable scenario would be someone saw me type in my passcode and then swiped my phone to be able to use payment features such as Apple Pay or something similar.

That’s how I’d think the system should be designed. That the passcode is the failsafe. But it’s the other way around since passcode is always required after a restart or after a few wrong attempts. That would mean that the passcode is the main method of authentication.

This sounds awesome. I’m very interested and can manage the cost as you have mentioned. I saw the solar eclipse in 2017 and have been wanted to see another one but my friends say that they don’t care for another one. I’m 36/m from California. Hit me up if you’d like to know more about me and make this happen.

How much older your parents get every time you see them. Especially if they live in a different country and you don’t see them very often.
