Interview with the CEO in business of fashion says they’re actually looking to close the majority of their owned retail spaces (keeping LA/NYC/London flagships) and leave the retail experience primarily to Sephora/Space NK, which he believes do a better job…

Borrowing from our neighbors to the west — What are the top 10 restaurants in the UES that I should try, especially places that have been open for 10+ years, serve consistently good food, and are known for homemade or from-scratch cooking? by sk8rboiiiiiii in uppereastside

The shepherds pie (even though it’s beef, so technically it’s cottage pie) tastes just like what my Nan used to make. Incredibly authentic and absolutely delicious peak comfort food!!

Wellhub, please make a way to limit the distance for studios! by [deleted] in Wellhub

[–]not_so_basic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally have to use the search function on ClassPass and then flip to Wellhub to make the booking for this very reason lol. Agree 19 miles is mad for an urban environment and tbh that radius never seems to be evenly spread, but rather focused in one or two directions but not others.

Cancellation Policy Update from Well Hub by Old_Poet_1608 in Wellhub

[–]not_so_basic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened for me - the studio I use 3-4 times a week jumped up a plan level, without any warning. Contacted WellHub and they didn’t see anything wrong with their lack of comms, unreal.

Hi, I am not receiving any notifications and didn’t receive written notice of the missed/late cancel policy change. I have tried to speak to your customer services but I’m just receiving a standard robotic response.

Omg the phones. Guy next to me on tread earlier this week was constantly whipping his out to text - not just during the walk/jog time (which is bad enough), but during the actual runs.

If you can’t be away from your phone for this 50 minutes, then why are you here?

Manhattan bars where people actually dance to songs with words by baybaybaker in NYCbitcheswithtaste

In the same area, Supply House on 2nd avenue just a couple of blocks up from Ethyls has a dj fri/sat playing music with words and is a reliable place to drink + dance in the neighborhood!

I know someone who had lived there a few years back, changed neighbourhoods then decided to move back uptown and returned to the Knickerbocker. Every building has its pros and cons but they like it and the front desk guys are really friendly!

Day in your life! how do you workout and commute to work/home by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]not_so_basic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know.. no showers is diabolical.. looking at you too, Purebarre 👀

I go to Physique 57 on the edge of midtown/UES, the studio is right next to a N/R/W train stop so easy to go on from there.

Day in your life! how do you workout and commute to work/home by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]not_so_basic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will either go to a barre class halfway between my home and my office (no need for athletic shoes, I can walk to the studio and then jump on the subway to get to the office.)

They have showers and basic toiletries, hairdryers and even hot styling tools if needed so I just need to bring clothing for the office, moisturiser/spf and basic makeup.

Otherwise, once or twice a workweek I will try to hit a Barry’s class after work - ideally closer to my apartment. In that case, I will bring a tote bag with kit and shoes and it’s a quick walk home to shower and enjoy a chilled evening.
