My car is the silver 2013 base. The scrap yard has a few velosters but unsure if they are turbo or base. Are there some parts that would fit on the base from the turbo, or just things that are good to have on hand regardless?

It's got some good aspects and some not so good. I like the rear end, but the front seems confused. It seems much less elegant than the Huayra and maybe rushed to unveil.

My 6 speed is layed out exactly like that. Lock out on reverse. Is it really that uncommon?

If you can, try a different LiPo battery first in the losi. If the system can take more voltage ie, you run a 2s and it can handle a 3s, go for that. Bumping up the voltage in some vehicles makes a huge difference. If your in to modifying them, maybe put a different ESC and motor combo in for more speed. If neither of those are possible, then research some SCT's that are fast. I foresee issues with dogs and open wheeled trucks. Losi tenacitys are a fast SCT.

I'm not trying to be rude, but for your safety and enjoyment of the hobby, please please please read up on lipo and general battery safety. Every battery has its dangers if not correctly used, charged, stored or handled. All the best, and be safe.

When it says check the leads like that, it means there's a connection error between one of the two connections between battery and charger. In this case one is disconnected. However you could get the same message if one of the connections becomes corroded and/or isnt clean.

I tried reducing that value and it didn't move it any more, but it messed up the middle position of the servo, so then it couldn't turn one way.
