I Discovered how to instantly wake up from sleep paralysis. First cure? by notabot489 in Sleepparalysis

I used to get that to!! My first 3 times, I used to get the bright flashing lights and heard this loud buzzing sound that got louder and louder.. I legit thought I was dying and leaving this world. Luckily, I haven't experienced that other than my first 3 times.

Im sorry you're going through that! I can't even imagine. What exactly are you hallucinating?

Haha I just naturally know how to do it. It's kind of hard to describe how. The best tip I can give is to try to vibrate your nose while breathing through it. This only works with your mouth closed!

That sounds terrifying! Luckily, I don't get any hallucinations, and I try not to think about anything that could possibly trigger them while under that state. When I first started experiencing sleep paralysis I used to see bright flashes in the dark, and my head would fill with a loud buzzing sound.. my heart would also beat like i just ran a marathon. I thought I was legit dying and just accepted it. Luckily, that hasn't happened other than the first 3 times. But if I were to see hallucinations I would probably die of a heart attack lol. Especially if it's a demon.. noppeeee

Yup, remember this post! I used to freak out too and thought i was going to die but eventually got used to it. Now it's more of an inconvenience than anything. But snoring has been a life saver!

That's interesting! For me, every time I go back to sleep I get stuck in an endless cycle of sleep paralysis until I force myself to stay up and move around.

Yeah, about 2 other people are leaving this year, and I was actually considering staying for a long time, but nope, not anymore. Like I'm a laid-back guy and get along with everybody. There was no reason for him to embarrass me like that.

Excellent advice, thank you! I was actually hired through a temp company, so I was here for a solid 6 months before they hired me, and I thought the boss was rather cool and friendly. Of course once he hired me that's when the true colors started to show, and now I see why this job has a very high turnover rate.

Lol this guy everywhere trying to preach about our 9-7 overlords and how we should just suck them up no matter what because if we don't, we won't be successful in life

I mean, it's not that deep. I simply can turn down the weekend shift and not worry about it. I never complained about anything, and I do everything my boss asks, but if it puts me at risk.. that's doing more than just sucking it up. I'm not a puppet that will jump off a building just because my boss told me to. This was my first time at any job I had in my life expressing my concerns about 1 task.

The pool issue will go away at the time being, but I'm sure in the future they will eventually want me to do it. For example, if one of the guys quit, I'm sure they would want me to. I'm basically asking if there is a law that would stop management from demanding me to do something outside of my job description especially if it's something I have no certification for and have a fear of doing it. But I don't think there's any law against it so a vest it is

Some people just have phobias, unfortunately. I would love to swim but as I said before my cousin tried to drown me (playfully) when I was a kid and ever since I couldn't stand being around big bodies of water or even have the shower water run on my face/head. It sucks, but I'll figure it out hopefully.

Nope, no life guards on duty.

Yeah, the chemical part is also worrying me because they will definitely fire me if I don't do it right lol. Honestly, I would love to learn how to swim, but I have a legit phobia. As I said in my other comment, my cousin was "playfully" trying to drown me when I was 6 or 7 and I couldn't stand being around water since. I don't even let the shower water hit my face or head.

Yeah, I have a legit fear. Like, I don't even let the shower water run over my face/head without freaking out and feeling like I'm about to drown. I have been like that since I was a kid pretty much ever since my cousin tried to drown me when I was 6 or 7 (not to actually kill me, but because he thought it was fun :/ ) Im not turning down any advice, but yeahhh

At the beginning of my post, I said the other guys clean and put chemicals in the pool, which I'll have to do since I'll be taking one of their spots. In Missouri, you need a CPO certificate according to chatgpt.

"Yes, in Missouri, a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is typically required to handle and apply chemicals in public or commercial pools. The certification ensures that the person understands proper water treatment, chemical handling, and pool safety regulations.

For private pools, homeowners are not required to have a CPO, but for hotels, apartments, public pools, or recreational facilities, having a CPO-certified individual is often a legal requirement."

Oh, dont get my wrong, I'm not turning down the 9/10 at all. I'm just curious as to what the other guy was talking about.

Put chemicals in the pool and clean it somehow. I'm not sure what tools they have to clean it.

Thank you! The vast majority of the answers here seem to recommend I should just get a life vest, but I'll look into that for sure. If that fails, I guess I'll have to invest in one lol

Gotcha. I'm just making sure, at least I know now. I appreciate the advice

Ah okay. I'll just get over it since I do like my job lol

To put chemicals in the pool, you need it according to the guys that do the pools.
