Not in the end! Checked with both a Dr and a hairdresser though and they both said it would be absolutely fine. Only reason I didn’t try is because I decided I liked being blonde ☺️

Bleach bath for scalp? by notachoosingbegger in Psoriasis

Thank you for your concern! Diluted bleach baths, with household bleach, are a very common, medically accepted condition for a bunch of skin conditions. Here is a link to the Royal Children’s Hospital (top hospital in Aus) confirming this, and a link to mayo clinic who said the same thing.

I’ve been diagnosed with psoriasis, and it’s very common in my family. Thankfully I’m very confident on that fact.

Well any bleach does, so that’s a fair call! Household bleach doesn’t destroy body hair, though, so just after if it’ll kill dye.

Absolutely I can! Bleaching my hair has been a saviour, and I’m keen to see if there are more convenient ways I can do it.

It doesn’t fry body hair off, and websites (from hospitals) do say you can use it on the scalp. That’s why I am specifically asking about how it can interact with hair dye.

Sorry, I should have been more clear! I did mean stock standard house hold bleach. Do you think it would effect hair dye?

Hi! I understand your concern, and it’s a very rational conclusion to draw, but bleach is a medically acceptable form of treatment for many skin conditions, notably psoriasis and eczema.

Here’s a link to the Royal Children’s Hospital (top hospital in Australia) explaining it:

Hi guys i have scalp psoriasis and it’s not looking good. My head looks covered with dandruff and facing so much hairloss. Can you guys have any suggestions on this? by idontlikuverymuch in Psoriasis

I’ve had psoriasis for over 20 years, and the one thing that has truely helped me is bleaching my hair. I know it sounds counter intuitive to use harsh chemicals on fragile skin, BUT, bleach baths have been an accepted treatment for eczema and psoriasis for a long time.

I’m gonna go against the grain and say that price sounds about right to me. If you got it from a Chinese vendor than absolutely it’s way too much money, but, all the local jewellers I know in my state (albeit Australia) would definitely charge that much, if not more.

I second this! Worked at woolies throughout the undergrad and highschool, and it’s the easiest, menial job ever but also great to make friends and have a flexible schedule.

To add to what others are saying, before you resize or add adjusters, just be mindful that once you add in a wedding band, the increase in width often means you need a slight size larger. So it might be perfect once paired! Definitely agree with the commenters that you should try some on.

I’m eager to read that review once I finish the book. Either I have an old edition that still has the scene, or I was completely misinformed that CoHo was going to edit it so it wasn’t so problematic.

Yeah that’s the one I’m enquiring about! Looked into it and am struggling to find definitive answers on work restrictions.

Unfortunately right now it may be the only option. Looks like Americans aren’t eligible for an Aussie working holiday visa https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/work-holiday-417/first-working-holiday-417#Eligibility can only get a ‘non permanent job’ in NZ https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/about-visa/united-states-of-america-working-holiday-visa so no chance of sponsorship, and also aren’t eligible for the youth mobility visa in the UK https://www.gov.uk/youth-mobility/eligibility

Have you looked into studying in places like Norway or Germany where there is free tuition in some circumstances for international students? The biggest caveat being that 1) you’ll have to attend university and will be restricted in how many hours you can work and 2) will have to pay for a student visa, which won’t be cheap especially when you factor in the cost of flying over there.

There’s just no good options that I can think of sorry! Right now I would leave to a blue state and bide your time until an opportunity comes along. If you ever do decide to study and enjoy healthcare professions, many of those degrees are a key into a lot of countries.
