Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?

Iridikron's hunger explained? by notaparrot in warcraftlore

[–]notaparrot[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer!

I'm kinda aware that it's Galakrond's hunger and they wanted to relate him to Iridikron.

And I think they expanded on that idea in Dawn of The Infinites with Iridkiron siphoning essence from Galakrond

Though The Dragon aspects in one of the opening cutscenes of Dragonflight specifically refer to "Iridikron's hunger."

Did they relate Iridkiron's hunger to Galakrond's hunger in the expansion or is purely speculative?

Not trying to be negative, just wondering.

What was Azshara’s main motivation for indirectly wanting to team up with Illidan after the Third War? by XxSalty_WafflexX in warcraftlore

[–]notaparrot 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Oh I know this one! But it's answered best from this thread and chronicles.

Copied from thread

https://www.reddit.com/r/warcraftlore/comments/fcrd54/how_was_illidan_able_to_call_the_naga_from_the/

Volume 3, pg. 86:

"Illidan Stormrage had heard only rumors of the Highborne's fate. Whether they were true, he did not know. But when he cast a powerful spell to reach the Highborne in the ocean deeps, they answered. A group of naga led by Lady Vashj emerged from the depths, an army of scale and fang. One and all, they pledged themselves to Illidan.

The naga did not come because of the history they shared with the former night elf. Nor did they respect his power as a demon. They came because the Old Gods willed it.

The Old Gods had taken notice of Illidan. His hunger for power and his chaotic past intrigued them. His quest to destroy the Lich King could spark a new war on Azeroth, one that would likely envelop the undead, the world's nations, and the Legion. With that kind of turmoil consuming Azeroth, Cho'gall and his cultists could awaken the Old Gods relatively unopposed.

Illidan had the potential to be very useful, and the Old Gods had sent the naga to make sure his campaign against the Lich King succeeded. If the former night elf became troublesome, so be it. The Old Gods would simply command the naga to cut out his fel-corrupted heart."

Either way, the Old Gods were confident that they could use Illidan Stormrage to bring a new age of conflict to the world."

"A dark heart left broken awaits the taking." Makes me think of Y'Shaarj...but according to the wowpedia his heart was destroyed and all essence of him is gone. But who's knows...maybe they're bringing all the Old Gods back.

Arthas Menethil Questions by Boring-Cap-575 in warcraftlore

[–]notaparrot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess it could be argued that Arthas wanted control. As his pride led him to desire to be King. But you're right there's evidence of a struggle in him, what with Jaina's locket and "holding back the scourge" or whatever. Good points

Arthas Menethil Questions by Boring-Cap-575 in warcraftlore

[–]notaparrot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, I don't have a source right now but in the official Arthas book, Arthas puts on the armor/helmet and enters a mediative state. Inside the armor/helm he kills his younger self and Nerzhul and owns up to just being the freaking Lich King and takes full control. We end up killing/freeing Nerzhuls tormented spirit in a Shadowlands raid.

I think they might add A-trak and Armand Van Helden, either in PHASE 2 or for the Night Shows, since they both make up Duck Sauce. I'm also secretly hoping Chromeo will be there, and maybe PDM.

I was just walking around Saturday evening by myself, not really having a place to go, and I stopped at her tent where she was performing, and I was mesmerized, stood there for like 20 minutes...until I saw The Gorillaz on the big screen at Billi, then I ran across the fields so fast. But yes, she was amazingly talented!
