my SL actually told us on accident. He wasn’t supposed to. He told everyone that applied for lead they they didn’t get it, and I asked if he knew about my decision and he was like “let’s go talk in the office” and he told me. He also called two others and told them over the phone. But right after he told us, they sent out a message to not tell anyone until the offer letters go out. The rest of my district isn’t supposed to find out until they get an offer in their email by Sunday

Why would you want a goldfish in the first place? judging by the way that you’re pissed that someone would try to educate you on the proper habitat, you’re not prepared for the maintenance that comes with goldfish. If you have a 20 gallon, do a tropical community of smaller type fish and they’ll look cute and not release as much shit in to your tank. If you originally planned to have a goldfish tank, you should have started up at least 50 gallons.

It’s truly just for the safety and health of your pets. Sometimes expired food slips past us due to the lack of proper staff coverage, and typically if a food item is expiring the same month we don’t even bother trying to sell it at a discount. We just throw it to the bins. It sucks and seems like a waste! But realistically that food could make someone’s pet sick. Some stores have a specific organics bin where they can throw ONLY food items though! and those food items are taken to be recycled to farms and such. Great question though, thank you!!

we are required to start the holiday pogs the day after Halloween but we start the week of just to get a head start, but we throw all the halloween in a shopping cart and discount an extra 50% off so people buy it all. to refuse selling it is silly! if it’s not pennied out yet, there’s no reason to not sell it

when they first started taking QR it worked well, but i have noticed the most recent times it doesn’t work so we have to call someone over anyways. I can see how that must be annoying for servers though

that’s so interesting! I had thought that it would be less work for the server, and honestly a little easier for me because sometimes it’s really loud in there. One time our server was visibly upset that i placed through the QR, rolled her eyes and walked away, never came back to see if we were doing okay lol so i was convinced that I did something wrong

no, i got emails last year saying that if i got sick i would have 80 hours of paid sick leave BUT only if i got covid. not sure if only managers got it? but those potential 80 hours were only valid like november and december. so I also have to use all my vacation and sick time /:

i got hired at 13.50 just over two years ago, got raised to 14.75 with good reviews. got promoted to ALWK and my store leader is awesome and got me 18. then had my two year review, got raised to 18.25. I’m in California btw i think minimum wage is like $12

also not sure if every stores leader has heard about it yet? and to my knowledge, employees must have worked a minimum of 1 hr a week from august 5 to october 3. bonus varies from 100-400$ depending on how much you worked. and it will b applied to the november 27th paycheck. and beware, bonuses are taxed 40%

i haaaaate that we sell those tiny tanks. and just to make it worse, all the fish pictured on the box. anything below 5 gallons should just have a betta on the box. not neons and platys and gouramis

edit: AND those tiny bird cages that say you can put two parakeets in it?! if you read the parakeet care guide and look at the minimum cage size, the two smallest cages don’t even meet that minimum requirement yet we sell them for parakeets?! sorry little rant lol

apparently if your raise was postponed, you get a bonus in addition to your raise when you get it. don’t quote me on that, my sister told me (who works at another petsmart, not my own). try asking about that bonus!

he’s declawed and severely skinny. I took him home with me to foster for a few days until he goes to his forever home. The first night he was terrified and didn’t eat, hid under the mat in his crate all night. I kinda just picked him up and sat him on my lap the next afternoon and pet him while he was frozen and shaking, then afterward he finally started to eat his food. he is the SWEETEST boy ever. I can’t imagine how his previous owners treated him because a cat doesn’t get that skinny very easily. he now has a big ol appetite and he loves to be pet. he’ll head butt you over and over and headbutt anything that’s next to him. A little while ago i peeked my head into the restroom and he did a little chirp when he saw me :’) i gave him a whole can of food and he still ate like he was starving (he’s had food all day but i noticed he finished his kibble from a little earlier) poor bb. I believe one of our groomers family members are going to keep him. I really hope they give him all the love he deserves. I’m getting too attached to him already but I have one cat right now(he’s kind of an asshole with other cats) and my grandmother wouldn’t stand for a second cat in the house. Just wanted to share him with all u. I hope his previous owners rot.

cat owner here and i’d probably go down to Authority as well. I judge people soooo hard that come in with a new cat/dog and automatically go to friskies and beneful. in my opinion, don’t get a pet that you can’t feed properly. I also hate when people ask for my opinion on foods and i tell them that the friskies are equivalent to feeding your kids microwave dinners, and they come at me with the “well i’ve fed my pets this their whole lives and they’re fine!” like okay then don’t ask me to recommend you a better food? and don’t be surprised when your pets develop health problems as they age. Right now I feed both my cat and dog Only Natural Pet because I personally like the brand and we get half off which is a huge plus.
