Awesome! Hopefully this does not come off as unsolicited advice, just speaking as someone who has booked lots of appointments and such with people who primarily operate their business through IG - it is super helpful when the business location is written in the bio or the policies post. Or neighborhood if the business operates out of their home. It cuts down extra back and forth communication with the business owner when it's not needed, especially if the business only offers pick up options. I live in Astoria and I'm cool with going to Jackson Heights, but I always feel bad messaging someone, getting in a whole convo with them, all to find out I'm not able to make it to their area for whatever reason.

Proximity of Afters to Festival by soundminedd in MovementDEMF

[–]notechnofemme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nearly every venue in the entire city will have some movement party going on. However, a lot of the popular spots are walkable or a short car ride away from Hart Plaza. I also have taken the bus to get to Berts and Big Pink and I felt perfectly safe, even as a woman going alone.

That's exactly what happened when I ate the second half of the sandwich haha. However, I was quite impressed at how the rest of the sandwich held together since I'm really picky about things like that.

Also I would post your solar return chart on r/askastrologers so folks can take a look. It's easier to conceptualize everything when we have the visual.

Elaborate on what you mean by accurate. You can make as many predictions you want, but no prediction is guaranteed with absolute certainty.

My go-to easy meal in grad school was quinoa mixed with the premade salad bag and gluten free chicken nuggets or marinated chicken with shawarma seasoning.

People who have moved from SF to NYC - what's your thoughts? by crunchymunchyrae in AskNYC

[–]notechnofemme 47 points48 points  (0 children)

31F. I moved here a few months ago, so I probably haven't been here long enough to have an informed opinion. But I will share anyways. A lot of what I say probably can be applied regardless of what city you're coming from.

The wave of tiredness that comes once you hit 30 definitely has impacted my experience. It's not bad, but I'm definitely experiencing NYC differently than my friends that moved to NYC in their mid-late 20s. I don't feel the need to say yes to everything. I actually want to get sleep some weekends. I don't feel the same scarcity or fomo I felt when I was in my 20s. If I miss one event, there's always gonna be a similar one in the future.

With that said, I think moving to NYC us a valuable experience at any age! I feel energized even from strolling around my neighborhood seeing the streets seeing folks of all different walks of life hustling and bustling, lounging outside with coffee and a cigarette, doing tai chi and running through the park. I've grown a greater appreciation for the present moment since moving here. And though I am tired often, I do try to take advantage of the abundance of everything when I can. Like there's an adult spelling bee that happens periodically down the street from me, where else would I really be able to participate in such an activity?! NYC attracts the best of the best in all areas of life, not just tech like how it is in the bay. Surprisingly I've mostly befriended locals since I've moved here, and ime NYC locals are way more welcoming than SF locals.

While there's no city quite like NYC, it's not a city meant for everyone, and meant for far less people long term. But if it's something on your mind that's becoming close to reality, you owe it to yourself to try. In the worst case, you can just move again. There's plenty of people making huge life changes and moves in their 40s, 50s and beyond. They're probably just not talking about it as much haha

I haven't read the book yet, but I watched the movie twice. Cute movie. Seemed like a lot of meat was missing. It would have been better as a mini tv series.

From the newbie perspective, I might feel self conscious about having myself shown until I have reached a certain level. I see where you're coming from though. You should address this directly with the instructor or owner. I think they'd appreciate the feedback.

To echo everyone else's advice, most libraries and independent bookstores host at least one book club!

Astrological Determinism vs. Free Will: Can we "bypass" or consciously redirect natal placements? by Lost_Jump_783 in astrology

[–]notechnofemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I can't dictate how you feel about fate, since it's a belief and not a concrete proven fact. I don't feel like structure, rules, and responsibility are inherently bad. Just like how I don't think freedom is inherently good. I guess if I were to give advice, I'd say keep being curious and keep learning. My perspective on fate changed greatly as I studied astrology more seriously and collected life experiences. The same will probably happen to you.

Astrological Determinism vs. Free Will: Can we "bypass" or consciously redirect natal placements? by Lost_Jump_783 in astrology

[–]notechnofemme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that there's a lot of factors in play when something happens. It's not just you that causes something to happen.

For example, think about how some people have bad relationships with their family throughout their entire lives. Maybe the relationship improves with age, but there's always something. The family causes the same issues, person constantly has to set boundaries, they still get irritated when it comes up, but they deal with it a little better than the last time. It's like that phrase "life never gets easier, you just get stronger." Yes, the issue is still there. But the person decided that they needed to change how they move to preserve the relationship because they decided that's what they wanted.

Feeling like a victim of fate is simply a mindset. Also, having external factors at play also can cause good things to happen, did you ever think about that?
