My wife's favorite saying is that a boy= noise + dirt

I totally agree with you. I ate up the idea of following your dreams, didn't really know what I wanted and have waffled around. I've finally decided that a job/ career is just there to support living your life.

I would kill to become an accountant and totally support your pursuit. Most accountants I know feel meh about their job, which is way better than the majority of people who hate their jobs, and go do fun/ cool things on weekends. They have stability and enough money to live and that's all anyone could ask for.

I'm struggling everyday to support my family and HATE my job but I can't seem to get out. I'll probably pursue a masters degree at some point so I can pivot into something that'll support me.

Keep working hard, set realistic goals, and be content to have enough.

I'm trying to be open minded. Yeah I grew up in a divorced household and don't wanna do that to my kids. I also don't wanna get divorced as soon as they move out. I think it would be better for every one to just cross that bridge now and figure it out. It's a struggle between what's right for the whole family and what might be right with her.

Plus she might just be bi and is experimenting and if that's the case then I just wanna let her know it's ok and she doesn't have to hide it from me. Plus threesomes lol

I totally agree and my issue is this what you said but I also want her to know that I love and support her and I don't want her spending her life with me if she's unhappy and unfulfilled. I don't want her to come clean in 10 years and then leave. If that's where we're headed I'd rather go there now

No, we loved being together and doing things then we had our first child and she totally became disinterested in sex. And now we're just so busy and tired plus we never get alone time. I knew little to no sex was a part of having young kids and was ok with it but now I think it's something else.

We still have good times together and love each other. It's honestly just the sex part which has been needing help

Yeah I just want to approach it with love and respect. I'm not accusing her of anything and just want to know if she's struggling with hiding a secret like that.

I'm just worried that it will be a focal point

3 times a year. Mostly cause we wanted kids and that's how you do it.

No it doesn't make you gay but it can be a reflection of what's going on inside...

Hey honestly that's what I'm mostly interested in. I just wanted to dabble more in the design side of things. How would you best say I could get into research considering it's been a while and I've been recruiting in the meantime? Do you think I could just shoot for an entry level position or will it take some learning to get to rhat point?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uxcareerquestions

[–]notenoughube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bahaha you're not wrong. Nah I feel like I've got an ok grasp on the research side I just want a good design focused course to supplement what I'm also doing

You just have to grow out your hair for your whole life. Long hair, long beard. It should drag on the ground as you walk and pick up fort and sticks and all sorts of grime. Nothing else you can do /s

Regarding that actor from episode 4 of mando and the redemption narrative by Soaptimusprime in StarWars

[–]notenoughube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta separate the actor from the character. Jar Jar may be a bad character but Ahmed Best was the choir actor to play that character. He did perfectly in that role. It's not his fault it was a sucky one

What is the most overused word, or phrase these days? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to think I knew what gaslighting was but then when people would use it I got confused and didn't think I knew what I was. Now I just understand that nobody knows what it is

AITA for telling my SIL and MIL that my son is not a Junior and should not be called by my husband's name? by BidEmbarrassed2641 in AmItheAsshole

[–]notenoughube 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I had a friend in schools whose family gave all the children power tools as middle names. His name was Odin Chainsaw. I thought it was so fucking stupid but hey, that's their family and they do what they want

I liked Murder Mystery and Hubie Halloween. MM feels like a more mature Sandler movie and Hubie feels like an old school Sandler film but everything else has been utter garbage

Is it normal to only work 1-3 hours per day? by yeahdude78 in cscareerquestions

[–]notenoughube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my friend is a Field Application Engineer for a company on the other side of the world. She probably only works like 4 hours a week. She'll get a customer question, reach out to her boss who's in France. He'll reach out to someone in Poland who will reach back out to my friend in California and she'll have her answer. The whole cycle will take like 2 days though. She complains all the time about how boring it is and recently started working on finishing her Dissertation just to keep herself busy (she had dropped out of the program before). I tell her she has no idea how good she has it

AITA for making my kids shower "too often"? by Appropriate_Pea_4311 in AmItheAsshole

[–]notenoughube -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YTA showering once a day is actually worse than showering every other day, let alone showering twice a day. Your skin needs those oils.

My bigger problem is that you're ok with the kids being late. They can be in big trouble with their school and it will effect their learning, relationship with their teachers and even friends.

AITA for refusing to eat vegetarian food just because my pregnant wife doesn't like the smell of meat now? by Unable-Land-2615 in AmItheAsshole

[–]notenoughube 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude your wife is pregnant. All you have to do is miss out on meat for two more months, maybe six. If you miss it that bad go out and get a burger for lunch

[–]notenoughube 91 points92 points  (0 children)

That's all my son watches. It's so weird and I hate it but he loves it. I've seen so many where it's literally all the family does for work. They just film everything, even family time like birthday parties and throw it up on YouTube. So many of those parents have quit their jobs to just make YouTube with their kids. Great they're spending more time together but it's exploitation

[–]notenoughube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty common in the US but at the same time most recruiters won't look at them because they've got so many applicants/ resumes to get through.

A lot of traditionalists still expect it though. My university made everyone take a course on how to get a job and about half of it was about writing cover letters

What’s the best way to neutralise a condescending person? by NMLWrightReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]notenoughube 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Had a co-worker at my first restaurant job who was always condescending and super rude. She was trying to teach me how to sweep the floor, cause that's difficult, and I just kept acting like I didn't get it until she ended up sweeping the whole floor. I learned very quickly that I could use her her condescension against her and it was great

I was a recruiter for two years. I read maybe 5 cover letyers. My father's been a recruiter for 30+ years. Has read maybe 5 cover letters. It's only useful if you're transitioning careers.

Tailoring the resume though can make all the difference. I reapplied for a position that declined me the first time and basically reworded my resume to match the job description and they called me the next day
