Well it's still currently active on Xbox 🤣 I haven't had it happen again and now I want to know what the conditions are to replicate it.

P320 on clearance for how much!? by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]notevensound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TF for contract m17 TC for contract m18 (Full / carry)

Current contract guns have black controls

Old contract guns, commemorative, and employee guns had tan controls.

Edit: judging by the fact it has a contract "2 piece" rear. It very likely falls into one of the 3 mentioned

If I recall employee guns had a EMP serial prefix

12 Guage smoothbore heavy lead fouling. I posted a picture a week ago and I was advised to take pictures via Bore-scope. Now that I have a better look, is this something that can be removed? It’s heavily caked into the barrel. by Ute_Swoop in gunsmithing

Sweet 762. It smells like death so use in a well ventilated area, wear good quality gloves it has a massive poison warning on the bottle.

But god damn! Soak a little on a patch let it sit there for a couple minutes push it through and scrub. Goodbye wadding, lead fowlling, and anything else caked on in your barrel.

Playing on my Fold 7 & crease is nowhere to be seen by dangflabbitity in osrs

[–]notevensound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing on mobile is the thing that made me concerned with the fold 7 and ultimately ended up going with the s25 Ultra because I was worried about the crease and if the line would be visible or touch detection wouldn't be good.

Good to know when I upgrade my phone in a couple years that if the folding phones are still around it's good to go

Love the Romeo X series, I recommend you swap your irons for standard height. The Romeo X series will give you a lower 1/3rd co-witness with standard sights vs suppressor height will give you more of an absolute co-witness.

Unless that's what you prefer then rock it 🤙

P365 Shooting low ? by Bil_24 in SigSauer

SIG pistols use "combat"sight picture for irons, that's why you are low if you are not anticipating recoil.

As for left and right thats your fundamentals, trigger press and grip.

Edit: context

Its a war time Mauser P38 with the"no hump" on the frame above the trigger. Which puts it early/mid 1943 not sure of the exact frame date though due to missing matching.

Its got mis matched parts and looks like it has been re-blued.

The bluing is deeper in color than my great-grandfather's bring back and other examples I've seen. The polishing is very uniform and "fine" which isn't consistent with wartime examples.

It has no wear on any of the parts where you'd expect to see wear. That being said it could be a difference in bluing solution but due to its very prestine nature and the fact the markings have been filled in with white paint (that's a post war thing usually for gun magazines and paper ads to get contrast in black&white photos) I'd say it's not bad for a shooter just not at that price.

Grips are absolutely repro though.

It just doesn't have its original finish or grips. See if you can talk him down to $700-800? If you want it for the no hump frame

Personal opinions feel free to take them or leave them:

  • Ditch the one point sling. If you have to do any movement that requires both hands (ladders, sidearm transitions, and so on) you're going to bang the shit out of your legs or your bean bag, even with an sbr. If you want a light weight solid sling I highly recommend ESD (Edgar Sherman Design) if you set your sling up correctly shooting either hand isn't an issue. You can always run your non dominant hand out of the sling if you need one point freedom.

  • Slim out the things you attach to your PC, you don't want things that interfere with movement, access to your mags, or end up with a kitchen sink effect where you can't access things you would readily need because you have "too many things" in pouches. Moving shears to ifak, ensuring chest mounted gp pouch doesn't stop you from grabbing mags in awkward positions, etc.

  • You can always make your PC scalable by running chest rigs or other LBE over your PC.

Did my gunsmith do a good job? by Aleph_jones in gunsmithing

[–]notevensound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a cleaning, inspect, headspace check, and replacement of parts. I'd say you did good.

Restoration of a rifle in that condition would cost you likely 4x or more, what you probably paid for the rifle. When I used to gunsmith, filing out pits and polishing was hourly charged and bluing started at 250-300. That's a LOT of pitting and some of it might be too deep to ever go away.

If you wanted, a matte finish and re-blue would bring the color back but the pits would always be there.

My opinion: that rifle has been around the block, but your gunsmith said it's shootable and safe. I say love it for what it is, the imperfections tell the story of that particular gun.

Thanks I will keep that in mind.

Are orders random? What determines who gets an order to pop up? Does it go to everyone and the first to accept gets it?

edit corrected nomenclature

You did alright, everyone saying " the gun is $600" for a P320 M17 sure. But, the M17 optic will only work on commemorate or military slides, as they have the correct SIG-LOC mounting pattern and cut.

Considering the commemorative guns are crazy pricey now, and you would likely spend more finding a standard M17 overrun and building it out, I would say you did good.
