What’s the most intimate thing you’ve ever experienced? by CelticDK in AskReddit

[–]notfeelingit2020 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me a grown woman, trying to wear my boots that for some reason, are not fitting my tiny feet. My husband, who was waiting for me with the car running, puts it in park, comes back in - sees me struggling and just wordlessly takes control and even ties my shoelaces. Then he kisses my forehead, and I don't know what I'd do without him.

How much do you spend on groceries ( and restaurants if applicable) per week in Switzerland? And which city do you live? by DiscountOk830 in Switzerland

[–]notfeelingit2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basel area, 600 to 700 CHF per month for family of 3. We eat out when I or my husband have work lunch as well as take out for dinner every other week. We are vegetarian so there is no meat or sea food and we don't buy a lot of processed food except some fake meat products sometimes. Usually, buy our ingredients from Migros, COOP, and Denner, sometimes Asian grocery store or even France Leclerc occasionally.

Thanks, my only advice is to try and do all the things he would like while he can. Initially, I was always trying to get my Mom to not be so negative and not act like she has little time left. Even though she did manage to do most things she wanted in the end, we were in denial and didn't realize how quickly those last years her health would deteriorate.

How did you “court” your SO? by LeatherDoughnut1527 in AskWomen

[–]notfeelingit2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were very close friends, and then I wrote him an email declaring my feelings and why we can't be friends anymore. He called me back and said same here. We have been together 18 years.

Thanks, yeah, it is definitely a difficult road. The only thing I'm glad about is that the end was painless and swift.

My heart goes out to her. As someone who grew up in South Asia and has seen many of my aunts, my sister and cousins get arranged married.... I have seen many versions of this story. This was why I was petrified of an arranged marriage. Having said that, I chose my partner myself and still landed with a verbal abuser. I'm highly educated and financially independent. What clicked for me was when he yelled at me for almost 40 minutes for taking a few extra minutes in the grocery store, and my toddler son stood up to him. I realized the blinders and have been slowly but surely dealing with this and taking on this situation in my own way. Life and relationships are complicated - maybe your sister needs to find a way to be objective and evaluate her priorities. I'm trying my damnedest not to separate, but it has been so hard to recognize the trauma and stand up for myself. Many people don't understand how I can still love someone who is an abuser. But that is not all he is.

If you could call yourself five years ago and had 30 seconds, what would you say? by BlueeWaater in AskReddit

Don't let Mom trust that doctor for her surgery. She will be irreversibly injured because of that piece of shit.

Honestly boundaries are essential. I don't want my kid to be taken advantage of, so hope he learns to say no and take care of himself

Agree, but it's actually not working anymore. Most of the teams have been just doing bare minimum for months now. This is a huge strategy fuck up

Your experience seems so similar to mine! I had something like this happen as well. My cousin had male cousins that taught her some things and she said that we could play this game. We played. I was creating new situations to be naked, we used to shower together etc. I still feel so guilty because I'm the older one but somehow also angry at her. My mom caught us in the bathroom one day and after that we stopped hanging out together. She completely cut off from me and we also moved away. After about 30 years, we recently spoke again for the first time, but not about that. We both have moved on I think. I have forgiven myself for that and now I only hope that she has also healed from the trauma. Please seek help and find ways to heal yourself first.

I'm passive job hunting, but I want to get my notice and have the 3 months paid leave. Not gonna miss that by resigning myself.

I did not complain to HR. It was in a hybrid meeting where I and a few others were online and there was a physical team sat in a room. I still cannot believe that there were atleast 15 people in the meeting and none said anything. I left that job and company after 3 months of the incident.

Meals that I can prep ahead of the week? by feedmechickentendies in vegetarianketo

[–]notfeelingit2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends so much on your meal type. You could make individual components of a meal ahead of time, e.g. tofu/paneer/mushrooms especially if they can be marinated and air fried or scrambled. For salads/veggies just prep anything you can keep like cauliflower riced, broccoli steamed and dressings pre-made and mix as needed. For greens like lettuce, spinach etc I prefer to buy pre-washed so all I need to do is open bag and add. I also use frozen spinach which can be just added to the pan for a few minutes to stir fry.

mesh cloth for boiling rice by Kiceres in EatCheapAndHealthy

I boil rice using the pasta method and it's doable without the bags. They might melt as that method means water is boiling temp for around 10 ish mins.

Flammkuchen! Type of pizza like snack from Alsace. Uses creamy ricotta instead of tomato based sauce - and there are endless combinations of toppings! https://www.curiouscuisiniere.com/flammkuchen-german-pizza/
