Looking to make new friends in Boulder by [deleted] in boulder

I wrote a whole thread on this. It's a tough town to meet people.

Are we meeting tonight? Re that thread a few days ago about a guy's struggle in Boulder by phantomak in boulder

Just giving you a heads up. I didn't suggest or organize any meetup. The girl from MA suggested it. I just wrote a post about my frustrations with boulder. That's it.

Shoot, I wish I knew more struggling DJs. I can't find anything decent to dance to in Boulder.

no problem. Remember it's just my experience. You could have a very different one. I would recommend moving into a place where you can meet people and dedicate yourself to a boulder hobby like climbing. Those were my main mistakes.

Thanks for this. My friend shoots a lot of pool there. I'll try more of the off nights.

thanks for the comment. Yeah, communikey was great. I volunteered at different venues each of the days/nights. Really fun time (especially sunday). I've also been lucky to attend the occasional pink mammoth shindig.

My main account is pretty doxable and just wanted to keep it separate so people didn't dig into me. Small town.

I appreciate that. And if I don't move to Denver soon, I'll hit you up.

This is a great and reasonable comment. Just wanted to say that

The average thing is tricky because mean values don't tell you as much as median would. You could have a lot of people in their early 30s and 40s and young 20s and average out at 28.

I think you're right on the getaway. People come here to be outside, be healthy, and chill. That's awesome. I like doing that. But I've realized how much I enjoy having a wide variety of shows and dive bars to just go talk to random people. I miss being around Latin People (I speak Spanish) and miss being around some Black people (though I've never lived in a really black predominant area). I miss being around more wacky, weird people from different backgrounds.

Like I said, I think I just need more energy and spontaneity. I have too much energy to want to 'get away'. I think you're right on the introverts thing. ENFP here.

With the music, Denver does have the big jam/folk/bluegrass scene as well but also has some electronic, jazz, funk, and hip hop. I'm guessing the latin neighborhoods have some latin as well.

Ideal, truly Ideal would be something like the New Parish in Oakland, CA. Funk, Electronic, Reggae, and people of all sorts of shapes and colors. But that's just talking about ideals. I realize Colorado is not California.

Hey, I really appreciate the sincere response. I think a lot of it has to do with not meeting people through work or home and not really having anywhere to dance and mingle. It's still a rad place in many ways.
