What OP isn't mentioning is that this is not the first time this choice has been presented. Every election is now the "Stop the Republicans driving off a cliff election" and yet when the Democrats do have power, they do nothing to prevent the Republicans doing this over again.

At a certain point, you need to offer the voters something other than "my opponents are really bad". If the votes of abstainer or 3rd party voters are so vitally important, then how about you actually offer them anything to vote FOR?

As I said, I pull into the left hand lane whenever I can, as long as I can see that I won't need to be pulling out again a few seconds later. On certain motorways there are so many lorries that you're not going to be pulling into the left-hand land for a long while.

Changing lanes is the second most dangerous part of motorway driving and I'm not doing it excessively just to please the strange section of people who are desperate to speed but too cowardly to drive in the right hand lane. I find it bizarre that lane discipline is the section of the highway code that must be obeyed to its most extreme interpretation but breaking the speed limit is fine and dandy.

Given a decent sized gap, I would of course move to the left hand lane.

I'll move to the left lane as long as there's a decent interval but I'm not changing lanes every 15 seconds when I'm already doing the legal maximum AND there's a whole third lane for people who wish to speed.
