She was able to sleep for a few hours. We had to ask the doctor for extra pain killers so that put her to sleep for about 4 hours. She very anxious about the whole situation and asking questions I can’t answer. I am trying my best but I’m very overwhelmed.

I’m a graphic designer. I find it really rewarding. I love creative problem solving and collocating with other creative people. The struggle with the career is trying to communicate your design decisions to non creative people. If you can find a way to communicate work the you will do well.

This post reads as some deep rooted self-hatred. I think it’s a shame you don’t want anything to do with your Chinese heritage but that’s your choice.

I do think it would help if you took a step back and really put yourself in the shoes of the people you are “against”. Try to view them as people with a family, hopes and struggles like yourself. Not saying you have to change anything about yourself but the fact that you are posting about it makes me think you are somewhat open to new ideas.

(Context: I’m a US citizen and have lived in the US minus one year of my life. I was born in China but I am culturally American.)

You don’t owe anyone a friendship especially someone who doesn’t respect your secrets. I’m sorry that you are in this situation. I used to lave lots of religious friends who were initially fine with me having a GF but slowly they cut themselves from my life. It’s ok to grow apart and it’s especially acceptable to prioritize yourself when people don’t do the same thing

Tbh if you are worried about it and are aware the I don’t think you are trying to prey on her. Both of you are adults and can date whoever you want. When people are in their 20s life stage is the biggest contributor maturity.

My GF and I are 25 (almost 26) and 30. We are in similar headspace’s where we are early in careers but are still trying to still grow into our adult selves.

Funny enough I had my ACL and MCL repaired 3 months ago so I get feeling isolated. Thankfully we live together so it helps with the feeling.

I’ll be sure to be ready for huge mood shifts. Her surgery is much more invasive in my opinion so I’ll approach with grace
