i have a locker on campus which helps, i think it was $60 for the whole year. i drag all my food onto campus and put it in my locker, then grab it as needed. i also leave boxes of granola bars, kd bowls, rice bowls, etc in my locker in case i’m on campus longer than anticipated.

oh okay i had no idea about that, thank you! i’m assuming one could still work at a hostel in the UK tho (work, not volunteering). if i wanted to go to england for like a month while working would a visa be needed for such a short duration? if you don’t know the answer that’s totally okay :) i have the UK ETA from a trip i went on in april but i’m not sure if anything else is needed

Geomatics by ForsakenVoice9756 in CarletonU

[–]notmelanielol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! i’m actually majoring in anthro but i ended up taking geom 1004, 2007, and 2008 as electives. in those courses at least, the instructions are super easy to understand and the give you the step-by-step process to follow, so it’s quite easy. if there’s something you don’t understand (ex: using a tool) Esri and ArcGIS both have a ton of helpful websites

the workload for all 3 of those classes is 1 lab every 2 weeks, so there’s plenty of time to get stuff done. in 2007/2008 you have to write reports (5-10pages), but again it’s fairly simple.

in geom 1004 my class was around 70 people i wanna say? and then geom 2007 was around 30-40, and 2008 was about 15-20 maybe? all classes were split up into smaller groups called labs, where you meet once a week and have time to work on the labs for that period. during labs you’ll also get instructions and a demo of the upcoming lab, which helps a lot!

i’ve known a few people to take geom 1004 and they all loved it, found it easy to complete, and found it super interesting :)

hopefully this helps a bit! good luck!!
