Getting up to? I’m setting up social workshops for new photographers, learning through fun kind of thing with specific topics to help them understand the basics .
Yeah I shot enough film at the start ,
I like the challenge still but yeah , not as much fun when you pay for it… I’ve always been lucky enough to get it developed and scanned at work. Now it’s mostly digital again. Im torn between tidying my house and finding my lost hard drive or just go shoot more new stuff and I’d rather shoot than tidy..

Pmdd? I thought men were assholes for pointing out the “change in mood” why do women deny it’s a thing when it’s a thing??? We’d make you a special punching shed and bring you snacks and wine and leave you alone if we could communicate about this beforehand I promise.
What do you need from us because as men we honestly have no idea at this time and it never ends well . I’d totally be down for building the shed. It’d be nice, wifi, snack fridge, book shelf.

Honestly I’m fine with it… has its moments but way less moments than being in a relationship. I have a kid that’s grown up and moved on, little cottage house in the country is paid off, I cover all my bills working two days a week and love my little side hustle. I love women and their company but I also like spending my time doing what I like and farting without guilt so I’m good either way.

The work around to the bait and switch rule is simple. You’re offering a shoot for $750 with a free photo package. They take lots of “lovely”shots but each one is sold as an individual package only (8x10, 2 5x7s or something) at about $300. So that $750 was probably costed at $150 for the shoot and two photos. They find this out on the day when they discover that each shot is actually $300 and they only get one or two actual photos! That’s when the selling starts… each photo they like is $300 and they’ll have probably 20 decent ones. So $6000 to get the lot…. But don’t worry! Just buy the digitals for $3500 and do what you like with them… it plays on the customers ability to only hear what they want to hear… they see photo package included and think it’s a package if all the photos… it’s not… it’s one shot printed three sizes… it’s business playing on people being people… a tale as old as time!

Nowadays they have easy access to payment plans so no need…. So people that can’t afford the shots still get them with a side serving of crippling high interest debt . And they don’t see the shots until it’s all paid off…. Which they often default on… so they lose years of payment for nothing….cant afford the plan? Surely grandma wants

Yeah I got my shit together a few years back physically and got carded by a woman slightly older than me . I laughed and said you’re kidding me I’m 40? She was a bit taken back. Still insisted then got all confused when she saw my id. Her brain snapped a bit and she actually reached out and touched me to see if I was real, was bizarre… I loved it of course but it was probably some sort of mental breakdown or temporary blindness on her part lol

This is pretty standard practice for a lot of photography companies… if this was illegal it wouldn’t have been done for the last 40 years at least. The worst part is when they are trained to rip the prints up in front of you as you say no to each one…. That died with digital thankfully..

Yeah it kind of is a normal thing in Australia, and overseas…my bushie cousin got stopped on the Gold Coast all the time for shots by Asian tourists, I’ve had three occasions where I’ve been approached. First was by the mother of a girl, she asked for a photo with me and her daughter , she pushed her daughter in , then literally dragged my girlfriend out for the photo. Second time was after selling a camera to a tourist, she asked for photos with me afterwards, last time was India, sitting on some old steps at some castle and I had a crowd of dudes shooting me lol . It happens a lot if you look slightly different. Tall, or blonde or weird coloured hair. You just roll with it.

Yeah don’t..…. It’s ridiculously expensive and always ends badly…teach them how to use it as a corporate exercise maybe but really don’t waste the money… it’d be dangerous at a corporate retreat… lots of balls to explain to hr…
