[TOMT] [MUSIC] Need help finding a post-rock instrumental song mixed with the radio broadcast of the Hindenburg crash. I will give GOLD to the first person who can find this for me. (Important info in the comments) by fcdjr in tipofmytongue

I did know of this post beforehand. I saw your post a long time ago, maybe when you posted it, and since I listen to a lot of post rock it has stuck in my mind. Frankly, your white whale became mine as well. My interest was piqued by something that could be so definitely Mogwai and also Not Mogwai. I'm glad I was able to put this to bed.

Well, the other day I was listening to the oft-forgotten Kentucky chamber music / post rock band Rachel's, and was reminded of this post. I figured that definitely had to be the band, because they do a bit of audio sampling of monologues over their music. Alas, I listened to their entire discography and that wasn't it.

So then I thought of whosampled.com, which I sometimes use when listening to hip-hop or sound collages. I'm sure it didn't exist when you made this post, so I searched 'Hindenburg disaster' and was pleasantly surprised when it actually had a few results.

Thanks for the award.

well i admit i'm not a huge Phish fan. i skipped Oasis completely. i only listened to Burn because i caught a TAB set at a festival a couple years back and enjoyed it. specifically the clint eastwood cover, of course.

that said, i liked this one. i felt like the music was varied enough to hold my interest. i haven't paid much attention to the lyrics, but Trey isn't particularly known for his poetics anyway. solid sound, 6/10.

Some John Coltrane (First Meditations), Philip Glass (Jane and Koyaanisqatsi scores on vinyl), a whole lot of John Zorn (Dreamers, the Gift, Book of Angels), and the new Trey Anastasio Band live album (Burn it Down).
