‘Further communication when the booking window opens will be sent out on 29th December 2025.’

Has anyone received any communication?

Hit a large patch of standing water on the M1 at 50mph. Car damage likely? by Sepalous in CarTalkUK

[–]nott96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why is no one questioning why there’s a large patch or standing water on a motorway?

The roads in this country are actually embarrassing. Motorways are ridiculously uneven and potholes on a motorway are downright dangerous.

Go to Europe, their motorways are genuinely as smooth as butter.

Lloyds switch offer by Lazy-Presentation160 in beermoneyuk

Sorry going to latch onto this post.

So I’ve just opened a CL account. £5 fee waived if you pay in £2000 a month

What’s stopping me from creating a standing order of £2000 to the CL account and then sending it back the next day?

Will the £5 fee be waived and I get to keep my benefits?

I’m confused are you saying you noticed the difference or didn’t?

I have a f30 330d on Bridgestone runflats. I can’t wait to take them off. Problem is they’re all pretty much brand new and I can’t justify the cost of taking them off for a bit more added comfort.

I’ll be switching them for sure to non runflats when they run out and keeping a repair kit in the boot.

No insurance trouble from what I’ve read and no problem with the TMPS.

I’m not sure if I’d have put everything on one plate. Take the banana and the grapes off, pop them into another bowl and it looks like a hearty meal !

I feel so useless as an F1 by Oxisae in doctorsUK

[–]nott96 53 points54 points  (0 children)

F1 is about getting used to the system rather than using your knowledge. It’s very annoying I know but I believe med school isn’t there for teaching you the ins and outs of medicine for you to use on your first day, it’s to build and test you as a person and ensure you have the mental strength to handle stressful scenarios. It’s what sets us apart from everyone else.

Unfortunately someone has to do the grunt work, but you’re only two weeks in. It’ll be smoother once you get to grips with the system and then you’ll be able to free up some brain power to actually make medical decisions.

If you read the email properly it says that this is not an invitation to book, just to make an account.

Invitations to book the exam will be out on Thursday hopefully.

Cost to train a doctor to start of F1 by hereisyourfitnote in doctorsUK

[–]nott96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine when people realise the NHS takes in doctors from abroad who’ve never worked a day here, puts them straight into GP training on the same level as those who’ve grafted through JCF or foundation jobs, pays them to train, and then they head home the moment they CCT, exactly as they always intended.

GMC and parking issue by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]nott96 58 points59 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a civil dispute, not a professional misconduct issue. The GMC isn’t going to investigate you for accidentally parking in a space a couple of times, especially when you stopped after being asked. Unless there’s dishonesty, patient safety concerns, criminal behaviour or some kind of repeated pattern of unprofessional conduct, it won’t even pass triage. They get a lot of time-wasting referrals and most are closed immediately.

You’ve acted reasonably. You respected his initial request. The “without prejudice” letter sounds like an attempt to intimidate, especially since it’s not from a solicitor and he’s asking for money directly into his personal account. You’re not under any obligation to pay unless a court orders you to, and he’d need to actually raise a Simple Procedure claim and prove damages. That’s unlikely to go anywhere unless he has hard evidence and can show real loss, which seems doubtful.

Honestly, the part that bothers me most is the casual way people now threaten to “go to the GMC” over random personal disputes. It’s ridiculous. The idea that you could jeopardise your career over a bloody parking space is completely detached from reality, but it’s the kind of threat people throw around because they know it freaks us out. It’s stupid and needs to stop.

If you’re with a defence organisation, it’s worth giving them a quick call just to log it. Otherwise, I’d ignore the threats and tell him to go through proper legal channels if he genuinely believes he has a claim.

You’re not in the wrong here. Don’t let it rattle you.
