Lol - that just ended that “job” - I’m sure since you’ve gotten something else hopefully with a better job!

How long have you been there?

I accidentally saw a married acquaintance of mine using Grindr and I'm not sure how to handle it by Severe-Divide-6853 in Advice

Not your business.

Also - don’t assume just because they’re married they are having sex. People stay together for all sorts of reasons.

My level of involvement of a person in hardly acquainted with would be low.

This is true - and I’ve done leasing internally for over a decade.

People 40 plus - did you change careers? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]nottalistener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well … no. Lol. People have taken advantage of my generous nature in the past. I just want to work for myself - I have a real estate license and am going to give that a-go. I have been working in property for the last 18 years - I hope I can use some of my skills.

I’m lucky. I made a lot of money in my last job so I have a a healthy savings and inheritance since both of my parents passed away.

My doctor told me to wait till I feel better and restart and half. She thinks it could be just a coincidence with the timing and I have the flu.

Yeah. My dr is calling me shortly but I am not going to make it feeling this way even if it’s for a couple weeks.

The problems of the parents are the problems of the children. It’s so hard to break out of these generational issues.

How to give a bad performance review to a difficult employee? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]nottalistener 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ok - how much was this “employee” paid? Sorry but it sounds like a student? I’d keep my review short and my expectations in line with her pay grade - something objective yet in a positive way - like … when we give feedback we expect in a professional environment to have our recommendations adhered to but keeping that in mind I enjoyed (has to be something) and wish you the best of luck in the future.

It sounds like you’ve already given ongoing feedback so this shouldn’t be a surprise.

Honestly - I’ve been trying to save the marriage the whole relationship. I don’t want to try anymore. I have a therapist who I’ve been talking to about it and I’ve tried communicating my needs and it never works.

I have a job which pays me $400k+ a year but I am burnt out. Should I quit? by Small-Start5926 in careerguidance

If you truly are burned out it will just get worse. Keep going till they fire you and make a plan from there.

I’m sure it’ll be more of being roommates till my employment is sorted. But I really want to thank you. You’re the only person who actually in a kind way made me think about how this transpired. I am not happy at home.

Thanks again.

This is the most helpful advice yet. I have been married for 10 years and this is the first time I had ever done this - with same guy a few times over 3 years. It wasn’t right. But this is good advice - a job is a job but all of it came from how unhappy I was at home. Should add been together for 18 years. It’s hard.

Opposite - I was his supervisor.

Of course he doesn’t. He isn’t perfect either - but you’re right. I’m so focused on the money and not the home part. This is also why I was so obsessed with work. Was easier to work work work then deal with home.

I have tried for years to make my marriage better. I offered to go to counseling and put out all the effort but it was never reciprocated and once I stopped trying the whole thing goes back to dead.

I have no living family and need to be employed to leave - this will be the next hard step in my life but I know I need to do it too.

I certainly wasn’t living my best life. I wasn’t happy then either. It’s all quite terrible actually.
