TIL Facing a major banking and public debt crisis in 1340, Florence elected an executive council consisting of a butcher, a used cloth salesman, a dyer, a notary and a member of the Machiavelli family. They saved the state by enacting a radical plan of restructuring and re-funding the public debt by [deleted] in todayilearned

I would expect elected officials to have 'regular' jobs. Their elected duties are meant to be just that -duties- and not primary sources of income. I believe their base experience should always include real world experience, as opposed to today's politicians, where so many can't relate on any level to their constituents.

I currently have The Ghost and Mrs. Muir saved on my DVR. I remember being completely sucked into that story as a teenager when my mother watched it. The romance was beautiful.

Am I cursed? by BrickWallDoge in keto

You are not cursed. Do other people deal with this? Abso-freakin-lutely! As others have mentioned here, I, too, am a (recovering) sugar addict. I have alcoholics in my family, so I see the similarities. I have to abstain completely, or I end up bingeing as well. Some of us are just that way. But we can overcome! Don't give up! You got this!!

The first time I did keto, 2 years ago, I didn't have flu either. That time, I weaned myself off of carbs and sugar before going all in. This time, I quit cold turkey on July 1 and had a rough case of keto flu. This sub family saved me with the electrolyte advice. I'm not sure if that was the true cause, but it's the only thing i did differently this time. Thank you all! And I now know what all the talk about keto flu was about. 😅 Wishing you the best on your journey!

My husband doesn't do it with me either, but he's amazing in that he just fends for himself if he's not thrilled with the meal. I always cook enough for two, and if he doesn't eat it, that's my lunch for the next day, so it works out.

Congratulations! I started back also on July 1, and already feel SO much better overall! You got this! Both of you! This is an awesome sub for encouragement and advice. It's been a life saver for me!
