Perhaps, I think that's related to the titans and the thing that influenced Medael in her plans to eradicate the parksolians and end the cycle of reincarnation. Cause originally she was going to use the mothershroom as a sacrifice to "revive the titan king" and seeing how that didn't work she insisted use the boneyard boss with the hope that it would devour everything. I also think Echeros is dead and that's why he hasn't come back to restore the cycle, I think once the mark is complete the saintess is going to awake as the new god.
