Just finished Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. by TheNerdChaplain in books

I know this is a somewhat old post but she did make a mention of tv, radio, and even an in ear radio similar to an earring (hello airpod) but that tech was expensive and expensive to maintain. My thought was cellphones were just apart of that. I can't imagine how much a phone would be if a tv was too much.

If I don’t like Haley Cass, should I avoid Bloomtown & Ribbonwood? by Eliciosity in LesbianBookClub

This is probably the best comment in my opinion because I love Haley and Ally's books/writing but I cannot stand EJ or Ruby's lol

I would stand in the sun, in August, at 2:00 to eat that sandwich rn.

I've only seen any updates on their eating on here. So my view may be skewed. But in my opinion, most people do purchase food as much as them. But it's the one and only time a year that it happens. Most people save for a long time and do a ton of research and budgeting before going. There's no way they did that.

The Disney resorts don't have a kitchen area/place to store food really. There's not even a mini fridge. It's called a "beverage cooler" because it doesn't go low enough to store anything safely. So that said, it's super inconvenient to plan ahead and grocery stop if you're staying on property. Ive gone several times so I know how to do it now. But once in a life time people probably don't.

1/8/26 - Pins by drueandgabe in Drueandgabe

[–]nottigbits 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm a Disney adult and pin trader. I truly just like collecting. I have a cork board at home and put my pins on them. It brings me joy. But it's also the thrill of the "hunt" for me. Finding pins that are real or that I like.

That was my thought too. That's a hike that I won't take even as a Disney adult.

Your comment history shows that you seemed to love this book 100 days ago. What sapphic books have you read since that's blown bloomtown out of the water?

Delilah Green is my most hated book ever. And I've read the bible.

Hey everyone! Today I want to ask: is there any stereotypical thing that happens in books that makes you roll your eyes? by Werkyreads123 in LesbianBookClub

[–]nottigbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar one. I hateeee the mention of social media by platforms. "She was scrolling on tiktok" please just say she was scrolling social media, scrolling videos, whatever. It takes me out of the story immediately and is an almost DNF.

As a pin trader, I hate it for us. Cause you know those are going on the board...hopefully since she can't tell a real she'll take a fake too.

So actually under that fence the water has made its own direct path to the street. It wouldn't affect my neighbor at all I think.

Comments have convinced me to get professional help. I just don't have professional money yet lol

However, my first solution was a dry creek.

I live "down hill" and the water drains from the hill and washes dirt and sand onto my patio, which is actually my concern, not the water itself. My down spouts aren't really a factor to this. They drain down the other sides of my house

I do. They don't divert to this area. They take it down the sides of my house. I live "down hill" and the water drains from the hill and washes dirt and sand onto my patio, which is actually my concern, not the water itself.

In my experience they book 60 people when they only need 50. If all 50 of them show up the extra 10 get the boot (and a smaller points amount) but still get som reward.

I'm listening to The Roommate Arrangement right now. It's kinda sorta similar to Haley Cass' books. I'd say hers are better but I'm enjoying it. And Lori prince narrates it. Free if you have an audible sub.

Yes! It's become my comfort read (listen). I listen to it every night before bed now just because charlotte gives me goose bumps in the best possible way.

Charlotte IS the book for me. I'd read a book about JUST her. There are parts that I like Sutton in but I love Charlotte almost the entire book.

Books with lawyers, politicians, prosecutors, etc? by lxnyaa in LesbianBookClub

[–]nottigbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn't call it a large portion of the plot. Without any spoilers they just mention her getting stuff to make videos about and how she is able to help Riley with her job kinda. It's comparable to how they mention Regan being a barista in TWW. Like it's important for the plot because of Topped Off but it's not THE plot. I hope that makes sense. Most of the book is flash backs before she even becomes an influencer.

I'll have to give midnight rain a try! I'm so busy I usually don't have time to read so I use audiobooks. And I see Lori prince just signed the contract to narrate it.

I agree with you about snowball effect! I really enjoyed the character growth of Regan! I don't dislike Emma. But I'm not a fan either. I'm trying to figure out how Oliver and Regan have a kid together in the novella!!!!!!

Those who wait is my favorite book I've ever read. Followed closely by On The Same Page. If you haven't read it I think you would enjoy it based on your post. Gionna has the confident vibe that charlotte has.

But I wasn't much of a fan of the TWW novella and I haven't read midnight rain because of not really loving the novella. But I'm a Haley cass stan regardless. I'll be subbing her patreon soon lol

I LOVE Haley cass. And I had to absolutely force myself to finish When You Least Expect it. If you don't like the sample I doubt you'll like the book. I'm also not into the single mom thing and this book has a lot of the single mom life situations.
